Never crossed paths with him, but I know people who have worked at Melges, and all of them said great things about him.

Rick Hoyt, who rolled his way to marathon fame, dies at 61

As Boston Marathon runners gathered on an April morning in 1980 in Hopkinton, Mass., a young man in a modified wheelchair was pushed by his father into the back-of-the-pack group without numbers. The pair had no idea if they would be stopped by race officials or even if the wheelchair would hold up over the 26.2 miles to Copley Square.

About three hours and 11 minutes later, Rick Hoyt and his father were moving down Boylston Street toward the finish line.

Over nearly four decades, Mr. Hoyt and his father, Dick Hoyt, became celebrated fixtures of the Boston Marathon — with a bronze statue of the duo known Team Hoyt dedicated in 2013 near the marathon’s starting point where they first set off in 1980.

They went on to compete in more than 1,100 other athletic events, including more than 70 marathons and 250 run-bike races and triathlons. In 1992, they left Santa Monica Pier in California for a 45-day trek across the United States to raise money for charities and research into cerebral palsy, which had left Rick Hoyt a quadriplegic and unable to speak.

I think time/history has clouded many to just how shitty the Reagan administration was. In a lot of ways, specifically his cabinet, he had a lot of commonalities with Trump. Putting Watt in charge of Interior is pretty damn close to DeVos at Education.

When deregulation is one of your main goals, putting shitty people in those cabinet roles is Job #1. Trump didn't invent that shit.

(I know guys on this board know this. But the general deification of Reagan is pretty fucking gross. Guy was a terrible president in a lot of ways. I will never call that airport anything other than National. Fuck that guy.)

While there were a lot of people who idolized Reagan when he was President, the succeeding GOP presidents have caused a lot of people to polish his halo.

I think it's safe to say that when Reagan's cabinet sat down to meet, the Gipper was one of the dumbest people in the room.

This book (read it a few years ago) is an eye-opener about how the Reagan legacy is a total sham.

And in Colorado Springs, I-25 becomes "Ronald Reagan Highway". I make it a point to flip the bird at the sign every time I drive into town to visit my parents.

Well, we have an airport named after Bush, but at least we don't have a highway! There is a Lloyd Bentsen highway though, so that's cool.

Chesapeake Shores was... kind of delightful? ... in all its Hallmark dipped goofiness.

I'm pretty sure I've talked about it somewhere, but it never failed to crack me up that they would show nature scenes that included sea lions and, like, dungeness crabs and a shoreline that was obviously PacNW and other shit totally not native to Maryland.

Anyways, the show was sappy and corny and Treat was a great patriarch in that setting.
