I’ll be in the Fortress on Tuesday with the Stanley Cup in attendance. I’ve actually seen it presented before (G5, 2018) but it would be something else to be there if VGK wins it.

If I were Tkachuk, I would have simply lifted the puck. Because both my shoulders are intact.

The record is probably 9 by some guy named Brick or Tank from the Old Time Hockey days, but Tkachuk’s 5 10-minute misconducts seems like a record for a Finals series.

Yeah, I didn’t like his father and I don’t like him or his brother. Always cheap-shorting somebody.

And always getting verbally fellated by Bissonette and the other commentators.

Other players seem to legit hate him too though it’s funny because I guess Mark Stone is standing up with him as a groomsman at Brady’s wedding this summer. That might be awkward.

(I was watching the Quest For The Cup series on ESPN which is interesting because the kids are all micced up for the Finals and at least a couple Knights were chirping “it’s always gotta be about you” to him which seeming a little made sharp-edged to me than a lot of the chirping they get on those shows.

ETA: I don’t knew why I wrote kids but I like it so not changing it.

That team is so good. Congrats, Brian!

I watched the majority of Pens games this year, and I'm super-biased so like 90% of their games I think they outplayed the other team and if they lost it was just due to bad breaks, bad bounces, and I'm still not even sure I'm wrong about that. The first time they played Vegas this year though, the Pens actually came back and stole the game late after being dominated for first 2 periods, but it was a little anti-climactic because I just remember thinking, "That team is soooo much better than us. There's no chance for a cup this year."

As always, I appreciate the affirmation.

No haterade here. McPhee is an excellent GM who assembled some very talented Capitals teams and did a masterful job of fleecing several GM's into handing him over some of the more talented young players in their organization for practically nothing other than the threat that they may pick an unprotected player. And usually that unprotected player they were scared of losing ended up sucking. Seriously go back and take a look at some of those trades that teams made. It's comical how bad some of those trades were. I've always felt that a large portion of NHL GM's are not good at their jobs, unqualified to run professional teams and that expansion draft proved that. Last expansion draft the Flames lost their captain, norris trophy winner, and heart and soul for fucks sake.

If you hire a GM that's proven to be competent at building good teams you already have a leg up on 20+ teams and that's what happened here.

Golden Knights are the 14th team that has come into the league and won the cup since the last time the Leafs have even been in the finals.

“Big Game Bob” had a final save percentage of .789 on the road in the Finals. Legit not sure I’ve ever seen a save percentage for multiple games not start with a 8 or 9.

I DVRed the game and haven’t seen it yet (still not home) but I’m curious if the TNT audio caught just how loud it was last night. VGK games are always pretty loud but that was next level.
