You guys aren't at the Franklin HS site for group championships, right, you're at the other one? Delsea?

I guess that makes sense if everyone is all in on the idea. Only he knows if he'd really run better on Saturday if he skips the 3200 on Friday.

Looks like the girl is seeded 17 in the 800 based on last weekend, but her PR would have her top 10. I'm really hoping she gets into at least the second to last heat and doesn't end up the fastest runner in the third to last heat. 4x400 is seeded 6th (so top heat) and fractions a second between them and 5th/4th seed.

She was complaining that they changed something about the qualifying rules this year and are taking less athletes to state championships from groups.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

yeah.. we're at Delsea for Groups.. Franklin for MOC i think.

to get top six in the 32.. he 'd need to drop another 15 seconds..he did it last year indoors.. go the the MOC and got creamed.. in the spring ame thing, got to groups and pulled up halfway w cramps. who knows. he seems happy so we have that going. what do i know?
then two hour bus ride home, sleep, two hour bus ride and then try and run a 1:59 in the 800..

Not sure if this qualifies as "Proud Parental", but my oldest daughter's new "friend" (she says they aren't official yet) came up this weekend from Portland to see her before she heads off to Israel next weekend.

He seems like a nice kid, who is very into soccer (he played at Gonzaga as an "under-sized goalkeeper"), but...I can overlook the Timbers tattoo on his leg, but the Tottenham tatt on his forearm makes me question his decision making process.

Q is presumably the youngest and definitely one of the smallest in her 6th-8th grade rec league. Semis and Finals tonight and the #2 pitcher was away and #3 was hurt so she had to pitch the 3rd, 4th and 5th against the best team in the league. Junk-balled the lineup to death, held them to 3 runs and her team came back to take the lead in the 6th and their 8th grade ace closed it out. This shit is so insanely stressful.

Another tally in the chip column for the swampspawn. No hiding in softball and certainly not on the mound. If it's a Friday night doubleheader they must have been celebrating under the lights. Best way to kick off summer and end school. Was dad a base coach or calling signs from behind the backstop?

Been there. Especially in softball you can ride a horse or two a very long way. Playoffs crunch games and force coaches to dig deeper into rotations (should be why they spread around innings though the season). Some kid the teams havent relied upon gonna have to sink or swim in the biggest games.

Ok, Canadian haze pushed the originally scheduled to be 2 day tournament to 1 all day grind of an event today. She finished 6th (medal, 2:17, not quite a PR) in her group in the 800 and qualified for the MOC (meet of champions/state finals) as an at large based on statewide results.

Then 8 or 9 hours later she ran in the 4x400, and broke a minute for the first time for her split and they ran 3:56 something overall, good for 7th in their group (no medals) and again qualified for the MOC as an at large.

So I’m taking at least part of Wednesday off for that.

we'll be there, but not too long - the boy and his team came in 2nd in the 4x8 - dropped 10 seconds to run 8:01 -- so at MOC on wed (then the missus bday celebration) and again on Friday night in Philly at Outdoor Nationals -- also plans to run at either Edison or New Brunswick on 23/24 as the Last Chance Meet was cancelled (blame Canada) to post times again in the 8, 16 and 32.. nothing else going on this week.. except #3 is due make her appearance on Thursday at noon -

Weather is forcing the state finals meet until tomorrow. So which are you attending in person and which are you live streaming?

as you know.. neither..the boy ran well, but overall the team did not improve on their joint PR.. plus the winners are #4 in the country i heard. a couple of them are running unattached this weekend in Edison to lay down one more time for the season. will look for USATF events to attend this summer.

# 3 was born on Thursday... both her and mom are doing well at some since saturday.. best father's day gift ever (and my family came up for the day.. pretty good sunday)
yep.. add girl dad to my resume.
