Hope the Caps grab Bylsma. I am just impressed by him. On the other hand it really is all about the coaches ability to get effort from Ovi and I have no clue if Bylsma can do that.

The roster really isn't that great outside of the very top.
Eh. This is one of those "I get why they're making a change, but there's more downside than upside" moves. Basically how I thought the Torts firing was last year but we lucked out that Vancouver was cool with a trade.

Would you really feel good if Philadelphia dumped their goon tandem and hired Shero + Bylsma to run the team?

I'd be fine if they hired Shero.

Just the Staal and Goligoski trades alone should build goodwill.

So Bylsma survived? Interesting. Will be awkward with the new GM.

Seems smart to me. You don't want to hire a GM who walks in the door wishing he had Bylsma as a coach, right?

does that ever happen? old boys club, every GM has his own friends.

Wherever Shero ends up one day he'll hire Bylsma as coach.

And Kunitz for Whitney, getting Dupuis as an add on in the deal for Hossa, whatever magic he pulled to get CAR to pretty much pay for Jokinen to play for the Pens. The draft is more of a crapshoot, but as has been pointed out all over the place this Spring, he has a pretty poor record there, especially drafting forwards. The results 2 of the last 3 years have been below expectations (and you can almost make it 3 for 3 given how they lost to BOS last year), so change was coming. He also re-upped Bylsma last year, and if the owners eventually want the coach out, that is a mark against him, too.

I don't get what happened on the ice this past Fri, Sun and Tue. That's not on Shero, especially after they were up 3-1. I don't know enough to say whether it was the players being outplayed or HCDB getting out coached, and can't parse all of the garbage that came out in the media in the aftermath of the loss. This fucking sucks. I'm disappointed. Go Ducks or Habs.

I think getting Dupuis was great but re-signing him for 4 years 15 million handcuffed the team in some areas.
Perhaps with some extra cap space, you could have gotten Kesler at the deadline.

Was it just those 3 nights though? If the Pens again lost to Boston in the ECF in the same fashion or in this case even worse losing to Montreal, would it have been the same outcome for Shero?

Dupes getting hurt this season certainly didn't help at all.

I really don't know what would have been acceptable this season. What actually happened clearly was not.

Trotz would be a weird fit in Pittsburgh. He's such a defense-first coach. And not only did he never coach a Crosby or Malkin level offensive talent in Nashville - hell, he never even coached a Kunitz or Neal level offensive talent.

Need the Swamp's hive mind on this. I am finally going to travel to see the Hawks, either in Anaheim or LA depending on what happens tonight. I even promised my son I would take him, so I can't come up with an excuse to back out.

I will try to get tickets as soon as they go on sale, but if I can't get them myself, is there a reliable way to get scalped tickets online, without risking paying for tickets that don't actually exist?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Thanks. I'm waiting to see when tickets go on sale from the Kings website. With them winning, Games 3 and 4 are my options, over Memorial Day weekend. Much easier to manage than trying to get to Anaheim for this Sunday or Wednesday.

We might end up driving. If the road gets too blurry, I'll be knocking on your door.

I was just checking there, and they have plenty of tickets. They say 2500 tickets for each game I'm looking at.

How does that work - I guess if you pay by credit card, you're pretty sure to get actual tickets?

Yep. It's always worked for me. I prefer to get tix from someone who has digital or etickets, so that you can print out the sheet. I'm pretty sure stubhub does some sort of guarantee as well.

Yep. Just get the print at home tickets and you'll be golden.

Blues letting Ryan Miller walk. Going with Jake Allen and Brian Elliott next year (good luck with that.)

Sharks mentioned as a possible destination for Miller next season... hmm...

LOL Briere and his one-cuntsmanship.
(Stepan's injury) seems a little fishy to me. It seems like a game.
Ryan McDonagh is a great defenseman but I've never seen a guy slash this much since Chris Pronger.
I can't wait for game 4.
