Not at all. Which is completely weird, right?

I also hate cucumbers. Except when they are in sushi rolls because all of the other flavors overpower the cucumber and therefore I get the crunch without the taste.

Exact same page. I'm mad I can't make myself enjoy them.
Yeah, you are wrong not to love them. Wondering if it's one of those things where some people taste them differently, like the poor souls who taste soap when they eat cilantro. I love all kinds of olives. Kalamata and feta is one of the greatest flavor combos ever. We have a Costco box black olive snack packs for my daughter. She hasn't worked up to loving the more flavorful olives yet, but she is getting there.
That's actually an interesting point. It makes me almost gag if I bite into something with an olive in it and I didn't know. While I can peel off other toppings on a pizza that I may not like (which, now that I think of it, I can't think of another one), but with olives it just ruins the slice for me (unless the olives used are really dried out and don't get their nasty juice on everything.)

That Detroit style supreme pizza from Costco is okay.

I also do not care for olives (they don't do anything for me, so I don't see the point).

Olives are good and can be great.

Brussel sprouts on the other hand are only edible when the are covered in so much sauce and spice that the natural flavour is nowhere to be found.

Brussels sprouts are perfectly fine if cooked properly and salted but are definitely better roasted w/garlic or any decent sauce, just like broccoli or asparagus.

Also on team I wish I liked any olives but hate all of them.

I don’t get you people at all. Olives are fantastic. So is black licorice.

Now if there’s a food that should have universal disdain. Tofu. That’s the most insipid thing around.

Tofu can be great if made correctly. And even average tofu is good if it’s cooked in a good sauce.

I don't think I've ever tried cottage cheese. I remember my grandmother used to eat it, and it looked disgusting. I wonder if I tried it when I was young, as I will try anything, but I don't think I did. And the thought of it triggers my gag reflex, but now I'm curious to know what it tastes like.

It's kind of like of like yogurt, but not as tangy... it's pretty innocuous in terms of flavor... like a really really mild sour cream (weird how I love that, given it's actual name?)... but there's no bite to it.

For me, it's 100 percent the consistency that bugs me. Like, there's probably a name for the same chemistry of a dairy product that isn't all chunky and at the same time runny that I consume and don't know it.

I'm a big fan of both sour cream and full fat yogurt, so yes, it's all about the consistency for me too.

Cottage cheese is wonderful you bastards. Put it on an english muggin with some everything bagel mix or a little spicey honey. Also works as a nice dip for spicey, strong flavored chips. I read somewhere that cottage cheese is a challenge to make and can be inconsistent so maybe you guys haven't found the right blend yet. Keep searching.

When I was a kid, it was very popular with the middle aged women in my family - it had the reputation as being a diet food. Cottage cheese with canned peaches mixed in is a bad memory from my youth.

My mother had that too. Btw, does anybody can fruit anymore? For winter desserts, we would eat pears and peaches my mother had canned. I loved drinking the sugary water the fruit was in.

Now, we only eat fresh fruit - quite an improvement.

Wheat Thins for me, though Triscuts are good as well. My wife mixes in Frank's (the wing sauce) with hers.

I’m now tempted to buy some cottage cheese. It looks, and I assume feels, like curdled milk. Probably an evolutionary aversion.

Im with Mrs. Rush when it comes to hot sauce on cottage cheese. Gives it that tang NLFC says is missing (and he ain’t wrong, either.)

Speaking of hot sauce, Barry from Sandwiches of History was not joking about the high quality of Franks Red Hot with Dill Pickle flavoring. It took me a little while to warm up to it but it goes fucking great on grilled or fried chicken and a bunch of other things.

I was never big on olives either. Until I went to Provence, where you get a little dish of warm olives when you sit down to have a drink at an outdoor cafe. And that's when I discovered that its the cheap, flavorless black olives out of a can that I didn't like.

I used to love cottage cheese on tomatoes from the garden when I was a kid. Last time I had it a couple of years ago I couldn't get past the texture. Funny how that changes over time.
