Yeah that's pretty crazy considering it's like 1-250 pregnancies. Felt bad for the twin last night who was just there for support.

It's so fucked up that he isn't the first to know before someone within the organization leaks the info to Woj.

Don't worry, James. If you're hell-bent to go back to Houston, there's no shortage of fans ready to drive you to the fucking airport.

Houston has already pulled out of the running. He's gonna be a Clipper.

Yeah, I learned that after I posted this. Either that or the Knicks. Couple of franchises known for success.

I would have to think it's the Clippers. It is very hard for me to imagine the coexistence of Thibs and Harden.

Wonder who the next star to advance to the second round with Embiid will be.
(Lillard would be perfect because I can't imagine he'd join in fading away for the end of a G6 and a full G7.)

The NBA off-season and drama always seems to amuse me and delight me more than the games of the season itself.

I wouldn’t go as far as Jhonnie, but the power held by the players makes the NBA Hot Stove (or maybe the in-window air conditioner since it’s in the summer) very entertaining.

Re: 2023 NBA Offseason Thread
Portland has been in ten playoff series elimination games with Lillard on the roster. He missed one and the team is 2-7 in the other nine, in which he has shot 40.0% from the field and 28.9% from three (he has shot 41.4% overall and 38.2% from three in all other playoff games and 43.9% and 37.2% in regular season, respectively).
When they won two consecutive elimination games against the Nuggets in 2019, he was great in the first, then shot 3-of-17 in Game 7, but did have eight assists and ten boards while CJ McCollum went off for 37.

I was going to say as sure as fuck remember one of those two, but remembered that was game 6. My wife still makes fun of me for my "I hate my parents for ever introducing me to sports!!!!" whining that night.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 3:57 pmPortland has been in ten playoff series elimination games with Lillard on the roster. Not a huge surprise, Green back to GSW for 100mil w/player option last year. given the CP trade, seemed pretty likely.

Re: 2023 NBA Offseason Thread
The first hour and 15 minutes of NBA free agency just feels like a list of contracts that will almost all be regretted by tomorrow morning. And that's not taking Kyrie getting three years and $126 million from Dallas.
I think the contract I've seen I like the most is Bruce Brown getting two years and $45 million from the Pacers.

They're all ESPN information mavens. But Woj and especially Windhorst I find compelling and knowledgeable, while Schefter just seems slimy. I can't exactly put my finger on why those two I see so differently than Scheft.

Re: 2023 NBA Offseason Thread
I am a big fan of Amin Elhassan and I understand if others do not feel this way. The Big Lead recapped some comments from him on the LeBatard Show almost a year ago about Woj while Jemele Hill was the guest and the three former ESPN staff members were talking about what happened with Rachel Nichols.
Or just look at him tagging agents in tweets about guys staying on two-way deals for next season. He's Schefter, only the ball is round.
And if you want gross pandering from Woj, this one is still fresh. Are you [beeping] sh-tting me? This guy is going to call someone a bad teammate? For real? For real? Do we want to talk about the black careers that he put a foot on because he was threatened by? Do we want to talk about that? Do you wanna talk about the newsbreakers - with an ’S’ - of diverse background, who have rapports with players that Adrian doesn’t have. That he saw as threatening because his sources are all front office people… and assistant coaches trying to move up… and maybe a video coordinator that’s trying to get a better job somewhere else.
But he can’t talk to LeBron. And he can’t talk to Chris Paul or Damian Lillard or some of these other guys. He doesn’t have that rapport with them. So what he does is he steps on them. And beyond that particular angle, he steps on a lot of people over there. He steps on a lot of people over there. Right? When you see a byline that says 'as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski and fill-in-the-blank.' That’s the old, 'yeah, put my name on it and put it out there.

And I don’t recall him patting himself on the back on an ESPN segment about how he married a 9/11 widow.

I also couldn't find it, but I recall a profile of Woj becoming king of scoops while at Yahoo after his first lap at ESPN being motivated because he wanted to "burn ESPN to the ground".

Must have been a real chore to marry a rich widow who was probably the nine piece to some hedge fund trash.

Dillon Brooks to HOU, 4 years for $80 million. Apparently, they may be looking to make this a trade with the Grizz.

Very high risk, somewhat high reward. About what the Rockets should expect at this point in the rebuild.

They needed a vet. Just not sure they needed THAT vet. Dillon plays hard, that will never be in doubt. Not smart, but hard. He defends like his life depends on it. The young Rockets could probably learn from that. His trash talking will be 100% less annoying to the entire NBA on a not great team. A good fit but that is plenty of money.
Re: 2023 NBA Offseason Thread
I think VanVleet is the vet presence they were looking for.tennbengal wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 7:29 pmThey needed a vet. Just not sure they needed THAT vet. I just assumed all the recent activity in this thread was about Ty Jerome signing with Cleveland. You guys let me down.

Joe Harris is offended by your failure to mention his trade to Detroit.

Love how "backhanded" is somehow a legitimate term to be used in news reports. Just go all in and call it what it is
