Ooo, actually, don't think that's allowed. Everything is the fault of "the progressive left" that all stayed home and cost Hillary and then cost the House.

The white women who didn’t vote for Hilary are conservatives. They presumably are fine with what’s going on.

The frustration is with the supposedly progressive left because they claim to support liberal/progressive/left goals but their actions further conservative goals.

What we're seeing more and more with this gerrymandered states. Governor is elected by the popular vote (dem) and then the fucked up state legislature isn't just republican, it's a lot of batshit crazy ppl.

I feel like if we're going to see actual violence on a decent size scale it's going to be in one of these states, where the actual will of the majority of ppl is being ignored/trampled.

Abortion is just the tip of the iceberg. Fucking with ppl's children with the education system gets folks REALLY angry.

The spilled coffee is a nice touch:
The employees were instructed to create a photo of Officer Venable, according to a person familiar with the request. A picture of the officer was found on Google; it was printed in black-and-white and made to look worn as if the mayor had been carrying it for some time, including by splashing some coffee on it, said the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution.

I figure Wisconsin is a good candidate for seeing actual violence - but only if the majority are able to obtain the political power they should have.

I don't get pissed off at my wife at all, but I'm fucking fuming right now. My MIL has a habit of talking politics when she's watching the kiddos, so my wife got upset with me tonight when I told them they could say the following to my MIL if she brings up greg abbott: greg abbott is an asshole and my dad said I could say that.

Fuck your bitch ass cunt of a mom who thinks it's ok to trash talk our current POTUS to our kids while constantly putting them in danger because of her road rage. Like, she's gone at an HOA meeting right now and I'm so tempted to just text her to say I've decided to go have a sleepover at my sister's tonight. Fucking raging over here.

AB's got a good idea. And if you can train them to give a specific example, like getting hit with more hurricanes like Harvey, then that might work too.

And if that's too grim -- I understand if it is -- remember that you shouldn't get mad at your wife, because if you do, then that shitbag Abbott wins. The GOP wins when good people fight among themselves instead of directing that focus towards them.

It doesn't matter. Kelli has told her mom numerous how we feel and why we feel the way we feel, especially with having daughters in this state. Maybe hearing it from them would change her mind, but I definitely have my doubts.

The problem is FoxNews and the rest of the RW media followed suit in brainwashing their viewers against all arguments counter to their narrative. Having your kids say anything is going to make your MiL further did in as she will think you indoctrinated your kids with the lies of the Radical Liberal Dems who want to destroy America. Best to teach your kids to ignore her politics.

Just curious, but how would people feel if I wrote that my sister is a hardcore Trumpist and trained her kids to parrot her nutty beliefs, and my parents tried to teach them the flaws in my sister's nonsense?

So late last week one of the teachers at the high school my daughters attend (and the corporation my wife teaches in) posted a pic of her and some friends at a karaoke night. In the back of the picture was the host of the evening. The host was a cross dresser.

Another parent, who had run for a seat on the school board and lost, reposted and was saying all the typical RW shit about teachers, cross dressers, grooming, etc. Then shit hit the fan. I would say 95% on the side of the teacher. The student body is outraged over this woman's comments about one of their teachers. I feel really bad for the daughter of the hate filled woman. The daughter is the same age as my youngest. They both march in the band and even played in a brass quintet with each other for band competitions. My daughter said her classmate hasn't been at band camp that just started this week. Word on the street is that the hate monger may have to move her family out of the school district (good riddance). The lady ran for school board on a platform of book banning, abolishing CRT (which isn't taught), and more hate filled RW verbal diarrhea.

I guess the teacher has been interviewed by local news station and also some national news outlets.

I feel awful for the kid, but its on the parent to avoid her being "the one with the fuckhead mom", not on everyone else to accept the mom and pretend she's normal. Ostracization is the only option early on and if people don't explicitly take the teacher's side, they're on the wrong side. Sounds like the town is doing it right.

First I can't let it sit; my sister is a lot of terrible things, but a Trumpist is not one of them. I hear what you are saying and agree, but people fed the propaganda fully believe they are right and we are wrong to the same extent that we know we are right. We live in separate fact bubbles these days, and I don't see a fucking way out of it!

I don't know the way out either, but tolerance for intolerance isn't it. They might think they're right and you might have empathy for that level of intentional brainwashing, but the underlying beliefs are far too dangerous to normalize and live next to in order to avoid conflict or discomfort.

It's less empathy and realizing that attacking these people and their beliefs entrenches them deeper in their believes. OTOH, it takes months of patiently discussing issues with people to have a chance at opening their eyes, and very few are willing to listen, so fuck it. Attack away.

See, this is the background of my idea of telling these people to fuck themselves, and their opinion is shit because they're stupid.

In the Before Times, there were certain ideas that didn't need to be debated because they were so patently fucking wrong and evil that anyone who was promoting them was a shitty person. Those were easy. Like there is no need to debate the merits of Naziism. If a person is promoting Naziism, that person cannot possibly be arguing in good faith, so clearly fuck that person. Same if a person is promoting white supremacy or the Klan. Those were the easy cases*.

Everyone has their own line of saying "nope, that is so patently fucked that I'm not debating anyone who argues it and they need to be told to fuck themselves". I didn't realize where that line was necessarily for myself, because I would've thought those were so obvious that everyone would agree. But Trumpism changed everything. Think back to the family separation policy. When that broke, I would think "yeah, maybe I don't have the right answer to solve the immigration question, but putting children in cages is obviously the fucking wrong one." And I would think that would be an easy call. Imagine my surprise when I would state my vehement disagreement and got pushback from this. The fuck? Take your Trump support off; putting kids is cages is clearly wrong. "But whatabout when Obama did it, huh L-Jam" people would reply. And my response was "it was fucking wrong then too." Prior bad unpunished acts don't make future similar bad acts okay.

So putting kids in cages. That was past my line. I would've thought that is wasn't debatable, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be on the right side of history here. So fuck those people who condone it; they don' t need to be debated because they're shitty people.

A couple of other things for me are past that line, one that I would've assumed would be self-evident but apparently not. One is if the president gets fired, he doesn't rile up his white trash base to go attack the Capitol to prevent it from becoming official. That's way past my line. Either a person supports America, or they support the guy who got fired. You can't be both. So if anyone wants to debate January 6, fuck them, they're a shitty person and they're too stupid to have valuable positions. Another one is you don't pass laws or promote policies that are going to make LGBT teens take their own lives. If they are supporting anti-trans efforts, then they know the effect is that more LGBT teens are going to die by their own hands, and their blood is on their hands. Fuck those people too.

I think I'm a fairly tolerant and open-minded person. For example, a person believes that keeping taxes on rich people lower is going to spur more innovation, then maybe I don't necessarily agree, but it's a valid argument. It's not something so patently wrong and evil that reasonable people can't have differing opinions. But Trumpism in particular, and the GOP in general, has intentionally promoted ideas that normally would've been so far past the line that they can't be arguing in good faith, and these people deserved to get fucked.

So fuck these people. Tell them every chance you get. If they choose to leave your life your life will be better. Reasoning with them hasn't changed them, maybe ostracism and ridicule will.

* Of course, I had to put a footnote here, as before it would've been out of my comprehension that a major party in 20fucking23 would hesitate to condemn Nazis/white supremacists and not collectively tell them to fuck off, and instead, openly court them.

I don't think they can be entrenched deeper. Hate is hate. I mean if the daughter was the cross-dresser than maybe. It doesn't really hit home until it happens to one of your own, that's the only way and even then, just maybe.
Not the hate, I was thinking the conviction that Giff and Mrs. Giff were indoctrinating their kids in the evils of Radical Liberalism.

I think that would apply to someone who has really lost their minds about UFOs or the US did 9/11 or something. Those are like "whoops, opened my mind up at the wrong time and now I'm believing some weird shit" whereas whatever you want to label this Trump shit is built on a foundation of hate.
