This sounds so great. I miss MLB.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

I don't, but I also figured that wasn't an original thought? But I couldn't contain it.

I could tell the scoreboard is new (I was at Citi once maybe 10 years ago?) but I didn't know it is 2023 new. It's pretty awesome and completely changes the feel of the park IMO.

fk. in my mind *Citi field itself* is brand new - i'm not at all happy with how middle age makes time go at like 4x speed.

No reason they aren't there now, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I get to see them in person. Because Louisville is so hard to get to I guess?

I was at Camden Yards last week to watch the O’s get shellacked by TX while wearing City Connect unis that looked like black pajamas. I like the hat and the jersey, but not with black pants. I suppose there’s a thread I could take this to also.

I opened the door to this sort of thread muddling by not taking my thoughts about Mrs. Met's dumper to the relations thread.

Looks like they could just have Mrs. Met's ass rise over the fence after a Mets homer.

Mild threadjack, apologies.

One of our neighbors is taking her daughter to Citi Field for a concert next month, staying at a hotel near the stadium. Said hotel is near the train station one stop east of the stadium on the 7 where the line terminates. Can anyone advise on if the train should be the best (safest?) transportation back after the concert? Would walking be reasonable at that time (assuming 11pm and it's probably a mile to the hotel), if necessary? She expects taxis/rideshares will be a disaster and wants to be prepared for what to expect.

All trains are safe here coming back from events. As long as there’s no weird walk from station to hotel they’ll be with people who left the same show the whole time.

Just left the Trop. How do people baseball? I suppose the hour less of it was nice, but my god that isn't hockey or soccer.

I just left Yankee stadium a few hours ago and I had a lovely time. Some of us like to think along versus being aggressively entertained every second 😉

I saw the same perfect pile of boring in Wilmington but summer college kids and fireworks! Really great show actually. Something to proximity so long as you don't get your fingers blown off. It's the fourth so baseball always allowed

A little hard to think along with the game within a group of 11, including my three who ironically shout, "sportsball" at inopportune times and my niece and nephew who get up every half inning to try and catch a ball from a first baseman.

On the plus side I did get 5% of the way to Joey Chestnut's tally. (10% if we're going by gross total weight and not link count).

sort of en route back home from (sad) college drop-off at Pittsburgh yesterday we diverted to Cleveland - how many times are we gonna get a chance to see Kershaw in-person...

...well it was the most fun 2 inning game i've ever been to (biblical downpour/lightning and i'm glad we pulled the plug shortly after 9 for the long 3 hour drive home). Got to watch Kersh's bullpen session from maybe 10' away - not sure i've seen my wife that starstruck since the time we saw James Taylor at a brunch years ago :D

TL;DR: love Progressive Field, will definitely be back (can't believe i grew up in WNY and had *never* been to Cleveland).
