Yes?

I agree they are excellent athletes. Doing physically challenge acting and stunt work.
Are the Globetrotters playing a sport? I think that’s why the term sports entertainment was used by Vince McMahon.
That’s a great question. Obviously basketball is a sport. But if you have tickets to see the Globetrotters, do you say “I’m going to see a basketball game”? Or do you say “I’m going to see the Globetrotters”?

If pro wrestlers were doing the same kind of wrestling as competitive wrestlers, it might be a closer call for me. But of course it wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

It's like the Ice Capades or the gymnastic tours that always happen after the Olympics. Displays of amazing athletic ability, but it's an exhibition, not a sporting event.

In a similar vein - MMA.

I love football, I love boxing, I even really enjoy sumo wrestling. No stranger to violent sports, but there's just something so gross about MMA.

The most popular shop in our little downtown street is a Boba Tea/Bubble Tea place. Lines out the door every day. I just don't get the appeal.

Yeah, I had it once well over a decade ago, thought "this is gross" and have never gone back.

I like it. Usually get a flavored lemonade or a lemon/tea (no dairy).

We have a place downtown that seemed to be pretty popular with the after-school crowd back when there was an after-school crowd. I have a soft spot for any place that can make our center of town seem "hip".

Put me in with the "weird" and "gross" camp.

A decade ago I had it in Korea and thought it was neat, but nothing special. Fast forward to when I came back to America some years later: I go try it and was just disgusted by the poor taste and everyone else seemed to like it.

Figured it would be better to post here. Boo hoo. It's a fucking dog. Stop kissing it in the mouth and putting clothes on it. You guys are about as bad as DMX. Dogs go in the yard. Don't abuse em but treat them like the animals they are.

I'm fine with your view of dogs, even if I disagree.

But I don't understand the "you guys are about as bad as DMX" part. Treating your dogs well is as bad as abusing them? I honestly don't what point you're trying to make.

No poor old D. Guy definitely should have hired someone to take care of his dogs if he wasnt going to. But Shirley is badmouthing a dead man. Hes waited the prescribed period so all is fair and for many this might be determinative but ill suggest a man should be judged on his treatment of fellow humans instead of dogs while admitting a correlation between the two.

eta hadnt read shirleys post... no not as bad just disgusting. In truth, the levels that white (if too much race baiting, more appropirately upper class) folks go for animals is fully within my blind spot.

Well, I could have listed his many arrests for abuse of humans as well, but it was the dog stuff that caught my eye. Sorry if you feel my timing was off. I was just responding to posts I had just read.

Well that's the issue. Why ignore agg battery charges (no clue if that's accurate) but get indignant about a dog. Maybe it's because a dog is more human to many than ghetto humans because they relate better to dogs than ghetto black folks.

I think its more because people can do things to deserve being battered. Same reason I think Roethlisberger/Sharper are far worse than Ray Lewis even if Lewis did some actual stabbing.

We keep the puppy in a crate in the backyard, but in a spot where there's plenty of rainwater if its not a dry spell. That's the best he deserves.

If I recall, he was charged with robbery a few different times as well as failure to pay child support. Shitty stuff, but I don't really know the details (much less the color of the victims - wtf?).

But I consider abuse of animals similarly to abuse of children. It's like how you can judge someone's character by how they treat other people with less power than them, like their subordinates at work or even a waiter at a restaurant. Anyone can be nice to their boss, but if you treat someone below you like shit just because you can, you're probably a real asshole.

If you buy a bunch of dogs and leave them in tiny crates and don't give them adequate food or water (I really don't know the details of his charges - I just read his Wikipedia the other day after he died while I listened to his music - it's a thing I do) - you're a really shitty person. And if you keep doing it even after being caught and prosecuted for it multiple times, well you're an even shittier person. If you don't like dogs - fine, don't own them.
