I read the story in the Post. This guy is the stereotype of what non-Americans picture gun loving Americans to be...

“Anyone that handles any kind of weapon needs to know that weapon and know how it works and know what the possible dangers could be,” Gardner (gun-toting Grandpa) said. “You need to know that, and that is a huge thing.”

Houchin (local Sheriff's Deputy) emphasized that in his 30 years with the sheriff’s office, he had “never seen a blank like this.”

“It was poorly made,” he said.

And this fucking kills me...

“Accidents happen,” Gardner said, before thanking God for his grandson surviving.

“God wasn’t surprised by what happened that day,” Gardner said. “He made sure things were taken care of. He knew what we were going to need that day.”

I assume you're talking about Glock. They only make handguns right? I guess I fall into the camp that has far less issues with handguns and hunting rifles than military weapons or people that have hundreds of guns, even if they're handguns. Still need to make sure everything is controlled properly, but I have no problem with someone having a gun at home for protection. I've never owned one, but most everyone else I know does.
