I don't know how things work in Michigan, but if this were happening to the University of Georgia, it would be impossible to find a judge who was not a faculty member, alum, season ticket holder, or superfan.

Yeah, I would be surprised if there were any judges in Washtenaw County District Court that have no affiliation or relationship with the University of Michigan.

Michigan keeps exploiting Penn State’s aggressiveness on defense and Manny Diaz is too stubborn to adjust.

Urban Meyer predicted a 31-27 final score which makes me wonder if he’s actually watched any games this year.

That 15-yard penalty is PSU’s biggest gain of the second half so far.

Not as cathartic as many MI fans would've wanted, but if you understand what they did in the 2nd half (32 straight runs, no passes) that was some old school beat down shit.

And being delayed for the end of a game where both teams have scored 34 or more. Might give all day B1G channel viewers whiplash.

That was a game only an M fan could enjoy. And even on that level, it was a pretty annoying game.

Credit where it's due, the PSU defense is fucking legit.

Syracuse has paid off being named the Sickos Game of the Week, thanks to playing their quarterback who is injured and basically cannot throw. I believe he is third in snaps taken (they are doing direct snaps to a running back and a tight end who formerly played quarterback - Michigan transfer Dan Villari) and has as many completions as he does backflips while lined up at wide receiver.

Off topic

So my wife and her mother made the drive from Maryland yesterday up to Rochester, NY to see her niece at RIT before she graduates in December. Her niece is one of RIT's sports photographers, specializing in lacrosse, basketball, and hockey.

My wife and her 84 year old mother are currently at a D1 hockey game, #20 ranked RIT is trailing Mercyhurst, 1-0 through 2 periods.

She's sent me a half dozen pics and videos. Place is a packed house and they're going nuts.

College hockey is the fucking best. Even most of the newer arenas try to pick up on the "barn" feel.

Apparently. They played tonight at their on campus arena. 4k tops. They play against the bigger teams at the arena in downtown Rochester. I guess it's like 3x the size. Anyway, the environment is apparently a lot like international soccer with all sorts of chants. She swears she heard 'Zweigles' in one of them (Rochester is where Zweigles hot dogs are made).

Yeah, that's a good analogy. Most teams with any kind of history have dozens of chants for various situations. Most notably taunting the goalie after a score and whenever the opposition takes a penalty. The slightly more sophisticated crowds spend a decent amount of time heckling the visiting fans, who are mostly made up of parents.

Feels like there should be some kind of well of outrage at a public university paying an employee $76 million not to work. They should at least move him to the janitorial staff or something.

If the public university was actually paying him, yes. The exorbitant part of all of these salaries are funded by boosters.

I get that argument but it’s still opportunity lost for that donation money. It’s like my county paying $750 million to the Raiders for their stadium. Yes, it’s funded with hotel taxes but that’s still money that could have gone to better use elsewhere.

You know that money wouldn't be given for anything academic. Shouldn't those boosters be outraged? Let's say you have a $75 million war chest. Isn't that enough to find a great coach and condition $72 million on winning sec (or division) in first three years or forefeited. No way Jimbo Fisher is that much better a coach than whoever takes that deal at a&m. You can actually win there.

Clearly better is certainly debatable, but they (donors) can probably afford almost any coach’s buyout cost.
