Oh boy that walk back to the locker room from Ryan Day was worth a thousand words. That’s a beaten man. He engineered it to not have to face Harbaugh again and still got beaten.

Good lord, what a game.
That's about all I can muster right now.

Re: NCAA FB 2023
Kind of a weird season but a nice finish before a bowl game. May have bumped us to peach instead of music city.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
Re: NCAA FB 2023
I will never never never understand why coaches rush only two players in the situation like the end of the Iron Bowl. Auburn deserves to lose.

Haha. That’s why Auburn is Auburn and Alabama is Alabama.

That game was tied at the time of the kick.

But why would I have turned a tie game off early?

I like that Georgia has won 1,000 straight games and there are still people wearing DJ Shockley jerseys. I’m not being sarcastic

Liberty went 12-0. Not quite sure why to make of that. Demario Douglas can play though

Their budget is like 10x the rest of their league and Chadwell can coach.

Washington went for it deep in their own territory with less than a minute left in a tie game? Paid off, but man that's a low percentage call.

Re: NCAA FB 2023
Virginia lost by 5 touchdowns at home to a team with a losing record. On senior day (with no bowl game to come). Against their arch rivals. Coach won't get fired after only 2 seasons, but it's been a disaster.
It's shocking to me how often Virginia Tech simply blows Virginia out of the water. It's been happening for 20 years now. Different players, different coaching staffs, same result Sure, VT is a better program, but not THAT much better. And many years, UVA has had the better team on paper. Sports are weird.

I'm reading now that the sprinklers came on because of an automated schedule...but this is still pretty funny...Shirley wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:05 pm Virginia lost by 5 touchdowns at home to a team with a losing record. Re: NCAA FB 2023
Despite not looking very good in most of the season, all Colorado State had to do to become bowl-eligible with a 6-6 record was to beat Hawaii, who entered the game at 4-8, with nothing to play for.
Nope.
Nope.

Which is one of a number of "breaks" that will allow James Madison and Jacksonville State to earn bowl bids. The only way as FCS transition teams to earn bids is if enough teams sitting on 5 wins lost this weekend, so...

Re: NCAA FB 2023
I'm in the opposite position as you with Lucas teams. Arizona could've legitimately put up 75 on ASU yesterday, but got complacent in moments and only put up 59. Shit was a blowout before halftime. I'm not even an alumni, but I was very pleased with the complete domination.

And even worse for what his supposed strength is, their recruiting isn't going so great for next year.

Re: NCAA FB 2023
Expectations got out of whack. But he got three more wins than they did last year, sold out all the games, raised a shit load of money for the school, and created optimism for the future for the first time this century.. It’s a success so far.

Michigan being favored by 24 with a 35.5 shows what Vegas thinks of Iowa’s offense (and defense)

Deion is more nuanced than I think most of us thought based on his NFL days. BUT, he's still a guy that makes things all about Deion... Which doesn't mean he's a bad HC, but it's (IMO) starting from a deficit as a college coach.

Re: NCAA FB 2023
MGoBlog is a pretty special site, for many reasons... But for me what makes it so are the regular contributors that add so much content. As you might know, a guy has been posting a weekly IoWatch all season, tracking the need for "offensive" "coordinator" Brian Ferentz to score 25 points a game. This week included this gem:
I know the Hawkeyes lost a couple key pieces when MI transfers McNamara and All went down, but holy crap.Once again, I’m going to gibber at the O/U for this game: 24.5. Result: under.
That’s 3 points lower than the previous “lowest line in the history of college football”, 27.5, which was set just 2 weeks ago vs. Rutger. Which ITSELF was 3 points lower than the previous record, 30.5, which Iowa set TWICE this year. Which itself was 1 point lower than the previous record, 31.5 which Iowa set twice (and Army equaled once lol) over the past two years.
Iowa has delivered on the Under for every single one of those games. Including this one! But considering that a single additional point by either Iowa or Nebraska would have hit the Over, I think Vegas has FINALLY figured out Iowa: record-setting lack of scoring.
Oooh here’s some fun math: if Iowa scores LESS than 32 points over their next two games, their PPG average will be LOWER than last year! Do we think they have 32 points or more in them? [I didn’t know this until right now, but last year both Rutgers and Northwestern scored LESS than Iowa. Oof. Oooooof.]

Re: NCAA FB 2023
Not for nothing, but it's really "interesting" how things quieted down for CO once they started playing decent teams AND their depth issues showed up (inevitably.) When folks were scratching their heads about Sanders essentially firing over half the team, it wasn't just that was (in many ppl's opinions) a shitty way to run a program... It was also because he wasn't going to have ANY depth anywhere.
I know he did it to make a statement (to the team and as a PR stunt), but I wonder in hindsight if he has ANY self-awareness of how foolish a move that was. I mean, I know the answer, I'm just saying.
