Real missed opportunity for both the Lions and Eagles.
Until everything is less insane, I'm mixing weed with wine.

Bengals got McNeigh's No. 1 d-line, No. 5 CB and No. 2 Safety.
Win.

Mike Reiss had a little on his drop along with other Patriots draft notes.tennbengal wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 8:54 pm are there some issues or injury flags with Christian Gonzalez, or something? Pretty good drop for him from where he was expected to go.
And Lombardi said he might not be physical enough.Keim (via the John Keim report, explaining why Washington went with CB Emmanuel Forbes at No. 16 over Gonzalez): “The one thing I heard from [Washington sources] about Gonzalez during this process was that they didn’t like what they saw on tape versus Georgia and that stuck with them. Did not have a good game. Now, he had a really good year the rest of the year, but I think that was a big deterrent for them and gave them pause.”
Re: BUSINESS HORSE 2023 NFL MOCK DRAFT EXTRAVAGANZA
But is physical play and the ability to not get dominated by pro-level WRs even a necessity for an NFL corner?
Re: BUSINESS HORSE 2023 NFL MOCK DRAFT EXTRAVAGANZA
Tomlin thinks he's a bitch. I'll still take the talent but the guy is a head coach for 15-20 years so he probably knows. Mr d talks in jest but wouldn't be the first at that position

In interviews Jordan Peele said he got the idea because of D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

Well yeah, he was a first-round talent• The Browns seem to have something in Dawand Jones: Jones racked up 223 snaps — the most of any tackle this preseason by 33 snaps. And across 148 snaps of pass protection, the fourth-round rookie let up just three pressures.
DAMN ITMurphy logged 34 total snaps in the Bengals' preseason opener. He recorded two total pressures, but his pass-rush win percentage was a low 4.3%. He also made one solo stop in run defense.
Early reports on Murphy are not great
Early reports on Jack Campbell are great though, maybe the Lions were right all along

He was pretty much a low floor pick though. I’m glad he’s developing but the criticism was always less about the guy and more about the value of picking an off-ball LB in the middle of the first round.
That said, it was a position of need for Detroit so maybe it’s best to not overthink these things sometimes. (And the Lions kind of made up for it by getting Branch in the second round. I think he’s gonna be one of the best defensive rookies in the NFL this year. Because the Lions play 5 DBs most of the time he’ll get a lot of chances to shine.)

My criticism was 100% about him waiting to do anything until the ballcarrier is five yards downfield.

That’s fair. I guess I meant the “national” criticism from the football/draft industrial complex media.

It looks like Horse knew more about Tomlin on Gonzales. So far he's looking great.HaulCitgo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:16 pm Tomlin thinks he's a bitch. Yeah I don't care what rationale they gave for not going after him (though I think picking Broderick Jones over him is certainly defensible), he was clearly really fuckin good.
He seemed like a damn near generational (I'm defining this as once-a-decade) prospect at the position.

Well this makes a lot more sense nowHe looked really good against Michigan in my opinion, despite the result. Michigan was BLANKETING his receivers and he was still fitting the ball into microscopic windows under pressure.

Still waiting on that contested catch. This guy cracks me up, he’s open by 30 yards on every play like GPJ said. He might be a legitimate star on a real offense.
Re: BUSINESS HORSE 2023 NFL MOCK DRAFT EXTRAVAGANZA
Ha was gonna say, looks exactly like Tennessee. Daboll is a master at creating WR separation - it's easily his single best coaching ability.
I think I was higher on Hyatt than most, he's one of those fast guys that still look fast when running past other fast guys. Big Mike Wallace energy.
Daniel Jones would still rather take a sack.

Re: BUSINESS HORSE 2023 NFL MOCK DRAFT EXTRAVAGANZA
Looking back, I think early returns may have Todd McNeigh beating "the NFL" this draft. So far I'm wrong on Bryce Young but not as wrong as them, wrong on Will Anderson and arguably wrong on Levis.
But McNeigh sure as hell ain't drafting Quentin Johnston as first WR off the board or letting Hyatt last that long or taking Tyree Wilson in the top 5 (or Paris Campbell anywhere near the top 10). Probably drafting Tank Dell earlier too. Also pretty high on LaPorta.
Guess I was pretty wrong about Porter Jr, he's been good from Day 1.

At least you ranked CJ Stroud above Bryce Young!
I think a lot of pundits are getting amnesia now about how they ranked those two.

I did let groupthink sour my opinion on Stroud just a little bit - my first opinion on him was "this guy is amazing".
