By the way, I'm an excellent speller. Won every spelling bee until 7th grade and had a complete meltdown leading to a week of detention for that L. For some reason, I never fucking know how to spell judgment. It probably helps also that the other one is the British way so spellcheck doesn't even redline it.

I know I've said this before, but a part of the reason Major League is because most of the actors were convincing enough. "Nettles got me....bottom of the 9th" - like you're weighing in actual players and then you go out and embarrass yourself with speedball and looking like you're shotputting a baseball.

I experienced that in Louisiana last weekend. I was prompted to upload my LA drivers license which I obviously did not have. Luckily I was able to access the needed hangover porn by simply turning off my phone’s WiFi.

Reach out to friends who seem to have disappeared. They need the love. I have a buddy going through some shit and we talked for hours yesterday. He needed it. His wife told me he was smiling and laughing after the call and she hadn’t seen him that happy in months. Life is busy, I get it, but you’ll be angry at yourself if that person is suddenly gone (my worry w this guy) and you were “too busy” to reach out. Yes, the phone works both ways, but my buddy “didn’t want to bother me with his shit” and didn’t call. I added a calendar appointment weekly on my phone to call and/or text him.

I’m here if anybody needs me and feels like they don’t have anyone to talk to. I’m an outstanding listener.

This is tough for me because whenever you move base to base or eventually retire from the military, they all kinda disappear.

And it sucks because a buddy of mine that I really, truly looked up to because he was just so damn cool killed himself recently and it absolutely blindsided me. We hadn't chatted in a while but I'd see his posts every so often on Instagram.

Air Force Master Sergeant. Good looking dude with an awesome wife (who's currently pregnant) and a kid. And he was in the SERE career field which is high speed and one of the 'real jobs' that you can make commercials out of.

I just don't get it. I feel guilty for not saying hi sooner, but I just didn't know. And I would've dropped everything if he needed something. It just sucks.
