Kane is going to debut for the Red Wings tomorrow night at home against the Sharks. The pieces at the Athletic and ESPN in the last two days about the procedure he underwent make it sound like he's going to be just like he always was. I don't think they're going to help.

Eight goals in the second period in the Sharks/Wings game. Detroit takes a 4-0 lead, then San Jose ties it up.

Kuznetsov comes back from being a healthy scratch to put one in against Dallas and ring the pipe. And ESPN is using some really funny camera and director decisions tonight. Really prefer the Monumental/Comcast/HTS/whatever they call coverage of the Caps (Joe B, Alan May, and Craig Laughlin are great...and a treat when we get Joe B covering lacrosse as he is worlds better than ESPNs lax guys).

The large lead-comeback (both directions) has been a feature of too many Wings games already this season. Husso has to be getting pretty close to losing the #1 spot to Alex Lyon.

Gudbranson the latest, but it feels like there have been a lot of under-penalized hits recently that have led to huge reactions. NHL probably needs to fix that before it’s in everyone’s minds and something goes even more wrong.

(Honestly having trouble really judging Gudbranson for the response. Insanely dangerous hit and Cousins twice refused to answer.)

Just to clear something up with Barclay Goodrow, he said he didn't lose any teeth then that puck hit him in the face in Ottawa. Asked what that was he spit out onto the ice that night, he said, "I don't know. That was part of my mouth that should have been inside my mouth.''

At some point they go bird cage or full length visor right? I mean the evolution of no helmet -> helmet -> helmet + visor points to the increased protection.

I know the cool kids will make fun of it but doesn't throwing yourself in front of shots with more protection outweigh the potential 5 minute high stick major for drawing blood?

I mean we are not talking about the ear covers that they take off the helmets.

That was absurd enough to be fun. Nedeljkovic was in Neo from The Matrix mode by the end, swiping every shot away and barely moving while doing so.

I accidentally clicked on the Montreal (English) broadcast in ESPN+ and even they spent as much time (if not more) showing the Pens dads in their suite as they did the shootout attempts.

The Sharks don’t have the worst record in the league any more and given how they started that’s not nothing. Speaking of digging out of holes, the Oilers are essentially back in a playoff spot now.

I didn't watch last night but lose like they did on Saturday and have a PP that 0-fer like a month until recently and I guess they're gonna try some things?

Anyone else see the Kuraly … incident? Not even sure if it’s an injury. There are like a dozen guesses on Twitter at what happened and I still didn’t see mine, which is that his wrist got stepped on after the initial hit(s) and he was afraid he was cut.

Refs don't make calls, this is what you get. How were the Dillon cross checks or the Hartman high stick not even penalties?

NHL players keep having to police themselves and the culture gets worse and worse.
