I hope all of you get to enjoy a nice peaceful day with those you want to be with. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.

Merry Christmas, Swamp!
Just trying to get the timing down today... Presents opened here with the Fab4, next up is brunch at the in-laws which was rather inexplicably planned for noon. Trying to move that up a bit. Then my mom comes back over here to cap it off.
Wife is exhausted after we hosted last night and just wants to nap.

Happy days, Swamp.
First holiday season without my daughter. Kind of bittersweet. She is spending them with the boyfriend’s family. I guess it’s only fair - he spent the last two with us. but it sure feels weird.

Merry Christmas my friends.
A quiet morning here so far...gearing up for the frenzy that will occur when Kelsey gets here around noon.

I know his address if a doxxing is in order.
Hope everyone is having a great day. I know we have a separate day to say this, but I’m really thankful for y’all. My life would be way less awesome without the Swamp in it.

Did your guests adamantly refuse to leave until you served them some?

I must’ve missed that. I dumped Twitter a year ago.

I don’t blame you. Just messing. But the figgy pudding was really good. Alas others had already left and are now remiss.

Re: Merry christmas
So, was it all happiness and light at everybody’s family holiday get-togethers?
My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon meal in SF yesterday. We were basking in the glow of it afterward when the phone calls and emails started coming. My volatile brother and my increasingly volatile parents had a blow-up, and everybody thought it important to try to involve me, from three states away. Sheesh. It may surprise you guys to learn that I am considered to be the relatively calm peacemaker of the family. But, that doesn’t mean I want the job.

Re: Merry christmas
I will say, as annoying as my family can be... The nice thing is that there's almost zero drama at holiday time. Really, the only thing that has caused tension over the years is how close I am to my wife's family and my mom feeling some kinda way about it. But that stuff got squashed over a decade ago.
Also, we've made a big shift in how we do things the last 3 or so years... We host everyone for Christmas Eve and then on the big day we open our family stuff at home, then go over to the In Laws for a brunch and the rest of the family presents. Then we head home and my mom comes over and we open her presents and she hangs out for awhile. Yesterday we go the solo stove cranking and got the new "outdoor" tv and watched foozball and NBA and had a few beers.
Lovely day.
