Lions have never lost to a #1 overall QB in the playoffs. Also have not trailed in playoffs since Obama was president.

I don't understand going for two down eight points.

On the road, analytics is a strong move to do that. Theory is if you get it, then a TD wins it rather than OT - and OT for the road team is still less than 50/50 proposition. If you don't get it, you still have a chance at 2 to force it to OT.
Titans did it this way against Miami in Miami late in year to perfection.

Re: 2024 (or is it 2023 because that's what most of the season was?) NFL Divisional Round
Right. TB's defense was gassed. That team was not stopping Detroit in OT. Hell, Detroit beat the crap out of the Bucs in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The fact it was only an 8 point victory tells me Detroit left a bunch of points on the field.tennbengal wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:56 pmOn the road, analytics is a strong move to do that. This game is Jason Kelce's Super Bowl.

I keep scrolling and I didn’t see and congrats bfj posts. Of course, the classy Texans fans did message me to say congrats.
ETA - this was a joke. Feel free to assume almost anything I post here (except for stuff about Max) is mostly done in good humor with the intention of making people laugh. All I was trying to do was make a joke about how much this board hates the Ravens. Please don’t get twisted over it. I don’t need congrats from this board. I understand that the Lions win was very significant and I wasn’t in anyway trying to diminish the importance of this football win for any fan.

This game has the makings of a classic. The fact that KC can score so quick is ridiculous.

I was confident that if that went in, the Chiefs were scoring anyways.

The Ravens famously won a Super Bowl with a murderous LB and the Lions last playoff win before last Sunday was literally before the Internet existed. Congrats on the win but get over it.

Re: 2024 (or is it 2023 because that's what most of the season was?) NFL Divisional Round
this is kinda where I was at. as soon as the third down pass fell incomplete - with the time on the clock and the situation, I figured the Chiefs were getting a field goal to win if not a TDThe Sybian wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 10:11 pmI was confident that if that went in, the Chiefs were scoring anyways.
this is controversial, but Josh Allen was playing a perfect game through the first three quarters and his team was down three basically as soon as the fourth quarter started. I had a feeling the game was gonna get dumb in the fourth (like last year's AFC title game) and it did, but Allen was so freaking good through the first 45 minutes and was negated because of the chunk plays the Chiefs offense was getting.

That said. Jared Goff playoff wins in Detroit > Lamar Jackson playoff wins in Baltimore.

Seeing a lot of Bills fans on my feed saying Allen is the problem and that seems exceptionally inaccurate at best and insane at worst.

It’s just a football game and I was joking. Maybe you need to get over it? Congrats on the win. I understand the importance.
Oooh a Ray Lewis comment. Didn’t bother me then, bothers me less now. And we’ve won 2 SB, not just one. But we did have a wife beater on that second winning team.

at least 98% chance that was happening. At LEAST.
i actually LOLd when that went wide right because *OF COURSE* - the most Losertown™ ending possible - but it only would have delayed the inevitable.
Sadness.
In my younger days that game would have kept me up all night. Just...going with a wounded punter? Also somebody tell me how Diggs doesn't catch that bomb?...
... fk it i don't even care anymore. Pitchers and Catchers on Feb 20th.

Also i'm totally simplifying it i realize as one who really isn't a *football fan* but if there's even an average quarterback behind center for the Bills this year do they go....what, 5-11? Maybe??
