So...a bit of news...

After 12 years, (yesterday was the anniversary of our first official date), and 10 years of living together, the GF and I are engaged.

I guess things are starting to get serious...

And it was a bit of a combination of shared benefits (she want's to retire in a few years, so will want to be able to put her on my insurance) and sentimental thing. We talked about doing it over the years, and always said that we wouldn't do it until after my kids turned 18 and were off the parenting plan so she wouldn't have to deal with any nonsense from my Ex.

Yes...yes we are.

And another thing that spurred this to happen now...my daughter was working as a seasonal employee at a jewelry store (Mejuri) so I was able to get a hefty employee discount on the ring.

Probably won't be anything near that elaborate. We talked last night about going to a "Justice of the Peace"/courthouse and doing it. And then probably a BBQ.

Second time around for both of us...and we are both 60-ish. We'd rather save money and go to Paris...or Hawaii or something.

Yeah...Older daughter is 31, lives in Bend, OR area (Sisters, to be exact) with a boyfriend/business Partner. Younger daughter is 27, developmentally disabled, and lives in a group home setting with another woman about 15 minutes north of us.
