In consecutive posts on Instagram just now:

VoteVets: Sharing a Politico post that Trump allies prepare to infuse Christian Nationalism in a second term.

Washington Post: The Alabama Supreme Court recognizes Frozen embryos as children, imperiling IVF.

Katie Grossbard: Sharing a report that West Virginia advances bill to prosecute librarians over books.

Fuck this fucking country, man.

Someone on twitter mentioned that if embryos are children does that mean each is a tax writeoff?

Yes and I think she won too though it was in Texas or some other Bible Belt state.

Florida surgeon general defies science amid measles outbreak
Instead of following what he acknowledged was the “normal” recommendation that parents keep unvaccinated children home for up to 21 days — the incubation period for measles — Ladapo said the state health department “is deferring to parents or guardians to make decisions about school attendance.”

Was talking about this with the GF last night (she does ultrasounds at a high risk MFM clinic, and they see a TON of IVF patients). She told me that its common practice to do genetic screening on IVF embryos before they are implanted. Any that have genetic abnormalities are discarded.

What is going to happen then? Will the doctors/patients making that decision be prosecuted? Will the IVF patients be on the hook to pay for cold storage for those embryos forever?

Pretty solidly pro choice here but just maybe. I can get my head wrapped around it but likely some controls needed there

Oh, that whole lawsuit about the abortion drug is crazy how corrupt it is. They got that judge installed in that district, where he's the only Judge (so no chance of the cast going to anyone else), and then incorporated their advocacy group Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, for which Hawley's wife is an attorney, in Amarillo expressly so he could rule the way he did.

The fix was in from the very start.

Hitler-praising Massachusetts GOP candidate pledges to 'exile all Jews'
One of the candidates to represent a Boston-area district in the Massachusetts Republican Party's State Committee is an avowed neo-Nazi who has pledged the mass expulsion of Jews from the United States.

"Don’t forget I’ll likely get voted into office on March 5," Lori Kauffman posted to her X account over the weekend. "Long term goals are to ban same sex marriage (never should have been legalized) and trans will be illegal. Yes illegal. I will also exile all Jews."

According to the local Boston outlet Universal Hub, Kauffman, who is from Dorchester and running in the First Suffolk District in the RSC, "divides her love between Kanye West and Hitler ... and blames a Covid-19 shot for giving her stage-4 brain cancer." She has posted a meme of herself holding a pay phone with the words, "Hi, Hitler? It's 2024 here and we're requesting your assistance."

Curious if her crazy beliefs pre-dated the brain cancer. Even worse, she believes she can, as a State Rep, remove federally granted Rights.

Lauren Boebert’s son arrested, charged in “string of vehicle trespasses and property thefts” in Rifle
One of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s sons was arrested Tuesday on charges related to a “string of vehicle trespasses and property thefts,” according to the Rifle Police Department.

Police arrested Tyler Jay Boebert, 18, about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the department said in a Facebook post Tuesday evening.

He is facing four felony charges of criminal possession of ID documents of multiple victims, one count of conspiracy to commit a felony and “over 15 additional misdemeanor and petty offenses,” the department stated.
Can we start calling it the "Boebert Crime Family" yet?
