Is there a reason why they just won't let go of the rope for a year or two and reset?
It's not the same thing, but when a team insists on never fully rebuilding, I always think of the Knicks of the 2000's. They'd keep taking on terrible contract after terrible contract while trading their high picks out while insisting that they had the smartest fanbase in the league, which makes me think the fans would understand a grander plan.

I still don't fully understand why The Process didn't lead to greater adoption unless there's some behind-the-scenes management. Until you flatten out the lottery, you're incenting teams to be bad while also saying teams should work against that incentive. And it goes triple in the NFL where you could simply be shit for one year and guarantee yourself whatever college QB you want. And the Jets still blew it and missed out on Lawrence.

Yeah the Bears outside the city would've been weird.
They had some issues with the first plot of land they bought (an old racetrack) and had some legal issues regarding the valuation of the property/their tax bill.
It's been a mess from what little I've paid attention to, although screwing up something major checks out for them.

Lakefront stadium so much better. Seemed like they just redid it? Went out to that track a couple times. Had fun but not the place for a stadium. Seemed like a bit closer Foxboro
Would love to see the plans for the lakefront build. 20% more park space after building a new stadium. Assume that includes the tear down of the current Soldier Field.

Yes, tearing down the stadium, but leaving up the colonnades. The plan at this time is to have that space converted to parks/athletic fields for public use, as well as the usual retail/restaurant stuff they always build with a new arena or stadium.

For the record I’m not excited for this at all except for the fact that I have Barkley in a dynasty league that maybe I’ll be able to pawn off to another Eagles fan instead of just not retaining him.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Tied with Mel Ott at Number 25 is Miguel Cabrera at 511.

Overall its probably smart to see the 11 win Eagles picking off three players from 13 wins New York.

Kirk Cousins obviously ain't in no GOAT debate from a playing perspective, but he might be the GOAT QB in terms of earnings above expectation.
Sam Bradford has entered the chat.

Bradford though made more than half his earnings off the old rookie scale deal. Cousins will have made more than 300 million after his rookie deal.

Looks like its back down to two.

Kurt is also better than Bradford. Probably different points on the same line, though.

They are going to build it on top of Soldier Field and turn Soldier Field into a housing project

Hmm... does that mean that people won't be allowed in their homes on gameday?

If they buy the personal seat license, paired with three preseason games (all away) they can stay for the first quarter.

It took a little over five hours of "official" free agency, but I think enough potential suitors are off the market that I think the return for any trade of Fields would be low enough that they may just opt to hang onto him (his contract is fully guaranteed this year and his cap hit is the same whether he is on the roster or not). I don't think they would want to trade him in the division (MIN) and I don't know how the Broncos feel about needing an established starter with Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci already on the roster in a tank season.

You have to wonder if maybe their asking price was too crazy but yeah there’s not a lot of landing spots left for him.

There are some tweets reporting a couple playoff contender-ish teams are kicking the tires on bringing Fields as a backup. Every goddamn story about his trade value in the last month listed it peaking as a third-rounder (except for some unnamed coach saying he would get a second). I know Russell Wilson getting released changed the dynamics shortly before free agency started, but this looks like Poles was caught...
a.) with his pants down
b.) with his ass in the breeze
c.) with his dick in his hand
d.) jerking around
I don't know, I just thought I'd try something different than setting up the "..." game because the Bears' GM's last name makes it too easy.

The Wilson thing is weird and I don't want him and I'm sure that situation is going to be terribly mismanaged, but at the end of the day, they're paying him like less than most 3rd string quarterbacks? That's certainly not going to fuck with a potential rebuild. Also, the memes are hilarious...

I know I don't know shit about NFL valuations and all that, but doesn't this seems really, really wrong? Wouldn't Fields be the Jets best QB in a long time the minute the trade was finalized?

I think the Jets think Aaron Rodgers is coming back healthy.

Teams would apparently run Sam Darnold back yet another time
