This Colorado Boise state game is not good basketball. Almost seven minutes without a basket for anyone.

Does anybody know the history of how 10 seed play-in winners have done in their first round games against 7 seeds?

0-0!

this year was the first time that the lowest-seeded at-large teams were No. 10 seeds. all four of these First Four teams would have avoided the play-in games if it wasn't for the bubble crunch this year. NC State, Oregon, UAB and Duquesne otherwise wouldn't have made it in without winning their conference tournaments.

This is a wild story... Long Beach State coach, and former Gonzaga/Minnesota head guy... Gets fired/resigns on a Monday, but stays on to coach the team at the Big West tourney. Winds up winning it all and now they play Arizona as the 15 seed.

As Bronto said, it's typically been 11 seeds, not 10s. But those 11 seeds have done pretty well. Two of them, VCU and UCLA, even made runs to the Final Four.

And I can think of atleast one #13 seed play-in that made it to the Sweet 16 in the most fun run in tourney history.

Whenever I see the name Wagner I immediately think of a guy yelling “you lost your Judaism!” to Larry David.

In a story I just read (by our man Bronto) the Long Beach AD appears to be taking credit for their run to qualify for the tournament, saying he hoped the firing would inspire the team to play better. What an asshole.

I am enjoying watching the Wagner coach. He was fun to watch as Howard was fighting back 2 nights ago. And his expressions as they are down 20 to UNC are great. Just sheer frustration and angst about his team despite being a huge underdog. But it is in a way that says I really want to yell but can't because it is UNC and we are Wagner.

Seems like a good place to drop this quote:
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey (on NCAA Tournament expansion) wrote:"We are giving away highly competitive opportunities for automatic qualifiers (from smaller leagues), and I think that pressure is going to rise as we have more competitive basketball leagues at the top end because of (conference) expansion."
