I have made the mistake... ONCE... of getting *$ mocha right as I was intending start a long day of driving. Yikes. That couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes to kick in.

Besides the normal things YouTube suggests for me like sports, music, cars, games, and the like, it also suggests things like ear wax removal, cow hoof trimming, power washing, carpet cleaning, and the guy that does lawn care for homes with overgrown yards. I'm not sure what that means.

Boring answer but unless you've ever googled shit like that, it's probably just a demographic algorithm.

Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
I get all those guys too. Never searched for them, but the power wash guys and the carpet cleaners are good ASMR to help before bed.

It took the algorithms almost no time to figure out “this guy, to the exclusion of all else, loves watching people fall down”.
Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
Yeah, a few of those are just generally popular videos that a lot of people watch. The carpet cleaning ones crack me up. "A customer brought this dirty rug in and we made it like new." And it's like a completely black rug just caked like it was stored at the bottom of a pond for a couple of years. How would that ever actually happen in real life? I mean, the cleaning process is interesting to watch (like, once), but why the subterfuge?
Totally Kafkaesque

Because I am cheap, I generally buy and use the least expensive brand of toothpaste I can find at Target. Usually, that means some brand that hasn’t been sold mass market since the civil war, like Aim, Aquafresh, or Pepsodent. This time, the wife brought home Arm & Hammer for me. Quite a strong taste! Kind of like a cross between baking soda and Altoids.

I am not a printer repairman. yet I was able to repair the printer by watching youtube and using google. Still the people who broke it sit there mouth open with the nerve to ask me if they can use the printer while ive got the guts out cleaning out old ink from the shitty toner i told you not to buy you fucking idiot and then told you not to use and wrote do not use on the muther fucker. This is my fault because i underestimated your stupidity and should have disposed of the toner.
Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
Reminds me of a tweet I saw once that said they weren't sure what kind of machine they were raging against but I'd put my money on that it was a printer.

One way you can tell you’ve been married a long time is that you can get into a pretty good disagreement over silly shit that certainly doesn’t matter. Example:
We are decades past days of proms or homecoming dances, and we’ve got no kids at home, anyway, so why do we disagree over protocol, anyway? My wife mentioned that she didn’t kiss her prom date goodnight, way back in the day. And, I pissed her off by saying that if the boy asked you to a formal dance, behaved like a gentleman and tried to show you a good time, then you really kind of ought to give him a kiss goodnight. Not a passionate kiss, but a kiss. That was a jumping off point to a bit of a disagreement!

Nothing, you already said it twice."Giff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:17 amYeah, we're lucky SC didn't argue that a gentle slap to put the woman in her place is definitely acceptable. MacDill Air Fest is this weekend. The Thunderbirds are currently practicing and my front yard is a perfect vantage point. Murica!

Speaking of the eclipse in Upstate NY, Wegmans stores are closing for 30 minutes during the eclipse so employees can all go outside and see it. I thought that was a cool move. I can't imagine the logistics of getting everyone out of the store at a random time mid-afternoon. And the employees remain on the clock.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 8:34 amDon't come to my place for the eclipse.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 10:12 pm Head on over. They closed schools for the day here because there is supposed to be just over one minute of full eclipse here that will coincide with our local elementary school releasing kids for buses and pick-up. Free glasses for our youngest, though (not sure about the middle school).

Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
I'm debating going to my Mom's where they'll have the full eclipse, but most likely I'll just stay here where we have 94%. Both kid's schools are doing something so that's neat for them.

Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
I think I mentioned I’m going to Cleveland for the eclipse, which is in the 100% zone. I’ve been monitoring the weather, and it went from rain in the am to partly cloudy in the am. Hopefully it’ll be clear in the mid-afternoon.

I'd go to your mom's if at all possible, unless the weather looks unfavorable.
People say that the difference between even 98% and 100% is like night and day. (Sorry.)
