The Jets and the Avalanche are highly likely to face each other in the upcoming first round of the playoffs. Today, Winnipeg just edged Colorado 7-0. One wonders how that carries over into the playoffs.

Is following that up by blowing a three-goal lead in the third period bad? Asking for a friend. (Hertl was huge today. If Stone is healthy when he comes back Vegas should maybe be the favorite to win the Cup.)

Yeah, I keep saying, "well, there goes that opportunity" for the Caps and then they claw back a win. Been going on like this for weeks.

That link says they are leaving their name and logo in Phoenix, presumably for a future expansion team.

I wonder what they'll nickname the team? Something that says, "Utah" I guess? Hmm... "Jazz" is already taken..., maybe the Utah Zydeco? Or, the Utah Hiphop? SLC Punk?

I’d like to preemptively point out that the rangers going over the cap in the playoffs doesn’t count the same because I really hope they don’t and it won’t be possible for me to enjoy any games with Chytil right now. Horrible Lindros in 2000 vibes.

The cool thing is that they're doing a lot of the heavy lifting with the Hershey guys. Sucks that Malenstyn got taken out by such a shitty late hit. That guy has been playing really well down the stretch.

Yeah, I was on here the other day pretty much complimenting the officials for a hit that took one of our key players out.That was the right call.

But the fact that none of the officials saw the hit is a testament to how late it was.

It's also a little weird bc the Caps have the tiebreaker on Detwah. I guess the fact that DET is playing a team wo any real motivation while WAS is away to a team with a puncher's chance moves the needle.

That was a good hard gut-punch seeing that score after the Pens won, only to be eclipsed by the Caps and Wings losing tonight and then the Pens losing to the Isles tomorrow.

I hate to get hung up on some dude's tweet, but it sure seems pretty plausible that a motivated Flyers team beats the Caps and then Detroit shit the bed. Both Philly and Pittsburgh have, IMO, pretty OK odds right now. Not owning their path, sure, but it's not like some of the NFL scenarios where Team A needs, like, 4 other things to click in place for them to have a shot.

Flyers need a win and two other losses so, even if those games were all coin flips, that's 12.5%, right? Add in their need to win in regulation against a better team plus DET/PIT facing teams with nothing to gain and that's probably a good estimate, give or take a few percentage points.
