Yup! I really prefer this to getting to September within striking distance and not making it. A tailspin like that forces them to make decisions they would probably not make yet. That's how we got into the mess after the Biggio/Bagwell era. Of course, that mess led to one of the best runs by a team in MLB history, but I think there's probably a better way to do it.

Like I do and don't believe it? I can't see how its possible to do that off flat ground but also its EDLC and you don't see 1Bs miss many throws simply because "its too fast and high".

Well, Harper was pretty good last year coming off the elbow issue but he sure wasn't his usual power self either. Probably best to let someone else assume the risk with Ohtani...

I would guess Harper's 3.7 last year would probably be highest, which Ohtani should blow past by the ASG or slightly thereafter.

lol same. In our 8 team league Ohtani dropped to late *2nd* round. total overthinking that I brought up angrily last night as I was watching the first inning and seeing him destroy a ball to deep dead center for the 2nd straight game.

The crack off his bombs sounds totally unique. I feel like I can tell it’s him with my eyes closed. The one sound similar to his is early 2000s Bonds. And I think it’s high power and connecting on exactly the sweet spot, which was how Bonds hit them at his Superman-level peak.

I bet there's a time where I would have said that any home run could be caught barehanded, or atleast could be attempted. Stanton yesterday wipes that out. I would have been terrified.

It's crazy what Elly De La Cruz is doing yet the Reds are the worst hitting team in baseball at .209 and OBP .288.

Hitting overall is reaching historic lows. League avg of .239 at this point in the season is the 4th worst ever, 1908, 1909 and 1968.
Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..

I heard that the Red Sox are throwing only 30% fastballs. They are leading the league in team ERA throwing junk.

Through April of 2022 league average was .232. Average goes up as the weather gets better.
