My 9 year old watches very little hockey and was in for the 2nd and 3rd and was stressed the fuck out over the last 115 seconds or whatever it was. Playoff hockey is just insane.

Kucherov, MacKinnon & McDavid are the least surprising Hart final trio ever though who actually wins it should be some drama. (If they took top 4 Matthews would have probably been no-brainer as well.)

Celebrini’s father used to be the director of sports medicine for the Golden State Warriors. Celebrini played for the San Jose Junior Sharks a few years ago. Kismet.

True grit is seeing you're going to miss a check so you throw your elbow out at the guy's head but then also miss that but then luckily after not paralyzing yourself your boot but not your skate drills him in the head. Go Rangers.

Leafs just fired their coach. It'll be interesting who they get as Treliving proved in Calgary that he's shit at hiring coaches (Gulutzan, Peters, Ward, then Sutter was forced on him by ownership). Perhaps he has deeper pockets in Toronto.

Fuck the Bruins, but I just don't get this one. If you can push (cross-check) a player into his own goalie and not have it be interference, I feel like it would be happening all the time.

If you push the defender into the goalie it's not goalie interference. You yourself have to purposely using your own power physically impede the goalie.

Now should it be a different penalty, like interference or cross-checking that negates the goal? Maybe but that's up to the interpretation of the referee and not for review.

Btw if that was Calgary Flames Bennett, they would have called it back.

Carson is the least culpable here. He was just relatilating for the McDavid two handed slash, towards McDavid's chest. McDavid's face was there because of Zadorov (who gets a $5000 fine)

If that had been an intentional crosscheck to the face, McDavid doesn't get up, at least not with teeth.

Shocked!! Zadorov and Soucy get discipline but McDavid (the slash that starts the whole thing) and Hyman (hits Zadorov with his own crosscheck to the face) get absolutely nothing.

“I’ve been thinking for a couple of days,” started Zadorov about his fine and the suspension of teammate Carson Soucy. “Unfortunately, that’s the world we’re living in. Sometimes social media and the public views can create some hard decisions for specific people and they might make questionable decisions at the end of the day. That’s how I look at it.”

“I had no intention to hurt anybody. I saw my teammate get slashed, I had to step in. I’ve been doing it for 11 years,” continued Zadorov. “It’s just an unlucky play, I got cut there too. Whatever, move on, Game 4 today, let it be.”

The two Canucks involved in the scrum both received supplemental discipline, but none of the Oilers stars, Zach Hyman or Connor McDavid, were fined or suspended.

“At the end of the day, they have to protect their investment, so that’s my understanding in this situation,” continued the Canucks defenceman, throwing a shot at some potential favouritism for McDavid, the face of the league.

Zadorov had stitches around his eye as a result of a cross-check from Hyman in the scrum. When asked why the league doesn’t protect him as he suggested they did McDavid, he was quick to respond.

“I guess I don’t make that much money for the league, I don’t know,” he said before changing his tone. “I mean it’s a hockey play, there’s a lot of sticks, it’s hard to see.”

Surprised Zadorov hasn't been suspended for those statements.
