Hilarious that we both chose that one. It was like 7th or 8th in my google search.

When it's really warm and humid in the summer I make my own gravy.
No bell peppers.

I’m very sleepy and at first I thought you were making a deep cut zman reference but I don’t think you are so ew.

Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Feel like green bell peppers would overwhelm everything else going on in breakfast gravy the same way they overwhelm everything else they get included in.

Apropos of nothing, this conversation is making me want a stuffed pepper for dinner.

"Foods/flavors that overtake all others" would be a good topic. I don't like when maple syrup is added to anything that isn't meant to be explicitly maple-y for that same reason.
Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Here’s one. “Cheese” chips like potato chips, Cheetos, Doritos, pita chips, and the like are grossly disappointing. Not only is the flavoring not cheese — and I’m at a point in my life where I don’t eat “cheese product” instead of the real McCoy — but they also put so much on it drowns out the dip. Fuck Cheetos.

Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Not that I’m particularly a fan or anything, but I don’t think Cheetos are meant to be dipped. For one thing, half the cheese product is going to remain in the dip.L-Jam3 wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 4:37 pmHere’s one. “Cheese” chips like potato chips, Cheetos, Doritos, pita chips, and the like are grossly disappointing. Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Funny, but just this afternoon I had Cheetos at our neighborhood end of school year pool party and really wanted to dip it in some sour cream dip that was on the table, but knew it would leave a bunch of powder in there.sancarlos wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 5:15 pmNot that I’m particularly a fan or anything, but I don’t think Cheetos are meant to be dipped. Who the fuck dips a cheese-flavored chip in something else? That's psychotic behavior right there.

And this is why the Doritos taco at Taco Bell is/was disgusting.

Yes, who would make cheddar and sour cream flavored chips, aside from Lays, Ruffles, Uncle Ray's, Herr's, Utz, Wise, Our Family, Market Pantry, Uglies Kettle Chips, Old Dutch, Guy's, Nick's, Casey's, Boulder Canyon, Jackson's...

Re: Culinary Hot Takes
I'm not dipping a flavored chip. Doritos, Cheetos, Sour Cream and Onion, Bar-b-Que, etc, etc etc are wonderful... They are not for dipping.

Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Pretty sure this idea was borne out of the fact that people have been using Doritos as their chip of choice for nachos way before Pepsi Co had the idea.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 8:45 am And this is why the Doritos taco at Taco Bell is/was disgusting.

Yeah, honestly I have a hard time with too much ricotta, so cottage cheese is a hard no.

Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Ooh, that gives me an excuse to buy some Doritos to test that out.
My mom always put paprika in cottage cheese. I think Doritos would have a similar effect, plus crunchiness.

Re: Culinary Hot Takes
Yeah, at least you could see the six tiny dots of cheese-flavored powder in the communal dip bowl, unlike who knows how many double-dippers have been there before you without leaving any evidence. After all, a random chip crumb could have just gotten there from someone else's fresh chip breaking off.rass wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 4:25 pmQuestion should be who would do it publicly.
