Apparently the criminal charges were dismissed because the prosecutors had presented inadmissible evidence to the grand jury.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Season 3 just started. First two episodes have been as great as the first two seasons were.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 1:57 pm We've been watching 'Hacks'...the show with Jean Smart (who's amazing) playing a Joan Rivers type of Las Vegas comedian.
We like it...its funny, with enough pathos to make it interesting. But what we really like about it? The 30 minutes long episodes.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
A little late, but I had to reiterate how good this show is. You kind of think of guys in planes as being outside of the action of a war, but watching their planes get torn up by bullets...they really showed how horrifying it must have been sitting in those planes. Hard to believe it was entirely based on real people from their memoirs. Fucking horrifying. CGI didn't bother me at all, I was so engrossed in the story I let some jankiness slide.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 7:53 pm Anyone still watching "Masters Of The Air"?
Just watched Episode 5...and wow...how nutty was it for those guys to bail out of a flaming B-17 as its going down?
And I was trying to think which would have been the worst crew position...and its gotta be either the waist gunners or the poor dude stuck in the ball turret.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Dave’s question reminded me of this poem we read in high school:
Randall Jarrell wrote:From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Like for real, don't read this if you are following the show and don't want a major spoiler.

X-Men 97 is a continuation of the old X-Men cartoon from the 90's. You absolutely do not need to see the previous cartoon to enjoy it. Though huge lore dorks probably should. The whole season is out now but it is a really good story arc of X-Men. Frankly I think it's one of the best pieces of X-Men media period.

I'm sure the joke has been done dozens of times in television history, but while watching Seinfeld re-runs earlier this week, I noticed they had a positive/negative medical test joke that reminded me of The Office joke when Michael thinks the diagnosis is bad when Kevin said the results were negative.

I burned through every season of The Righteous Gemstones and the first season of Barry. Also started in on the first season of The Leftovers.
HBO Max has a bunch of good TV shows.

HBO. I’ve heard about this station. Tell us more. Do they do dramas or just comedies?

All those shows are fantastic. Just started Behind the Candelabra, and I think Liberace might have been gay!

The Leftovers was ok. I guess I don't have a big enough brain to get it all. It had an intriguing storyline, but the creator of Lost is gunna do Lost shit.
(And I never watched Lost, but I've read enough about it to never want to watch it.)

It’s OK to not want to watch a show but The Leftovers is nothing like Lost.

The Outlaws on Amazon Prime (3rd season out now) is a decent watch. British comedy. Stephen Merchant and Christopher Walken are folks us yanks recognize. I am sure the others are known.

We really liked it, but you do have to tolerate wackiness.
