Apparently the criminal charges were dismissed because the prosecutors had presented inadmissible evidence to the grand jury.

Just watched Episode 5...and wow...how nutty was it for those guys to bail out of a flaming B-17 as its going down?

And I was trying to think which would have been the worst crew position...and its gotta be either the waist gunners or the poor dude stuck in the ball turret.
A little late, but I had to reiterate how good this show is. You kind of think of guys in planes as being outside of the action of a war, but watching their planes get torn up by bullets...they really showed how horrifying it must have been sitting in those planes. Hard to believe it was entirely based on real people from their memoirs. Fucking horrifying. CGI didn't bother me at all, I was so engrossed in the story I let some jankiness slide.

Dave’s question reminded me of this poem we read in high school:
Randall Jarrell wrote:From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose

I watched Ep 2 a little buzzed/high and turned to my wife and said "I think this dude is an actual alien." She laughed... Then I laughed... And we started calling it The Alien Show. But once your mind is even a little bit down that path, it's actually fairly obvious.

Agree, Agree, and what is X-Men 97?
X-Men 97 is a continuation of the old X-Men cartoon from the 90's. You absolutely do not need to see the previous cartoon to enjoy it. Though huge lore dorks probably should. The whole season is out now but it is a really good story arc of X-Men. Frankly I think it's one of the best pieces of X-Men media period.

I'm sure the joke has been done dozens of times in television history, but while watching Seinfeld re-runs earlier this week, I noticed they had a positive/negative medical test joke that reminded me of The Office joke when Michael thinks the diagnosis is bad when Kevin said the results were negative.

The Leftovers was ok. I guess I don't have a big enough brain to get it all. It had an intriguing storyline, but the creator of Lost is gunna do Lost shit.

(And I never watched Lost, but I've read enough about it to never want to watch it.)

The Outlaws on Amazon Prime (3rd season out now) is a decent watch. British comedy. Stephen Merchant and Christopher Walken are folks us yanks recognize. I am sure the others are known.

Also random cameo from one of the soccer players from Ted Lasso

We are enjoying Dark Matter on Apple. I just read the book and it might be the shortest amount of time between reading the source material and then seeing it on TV/film. There are some big storyline changes in the show, but they were needed to flesh it out for that medium. The author is also the screenwriter for most of the episodes, so it works.

Episode 5 of Season 4 (The one that came out today) is ridiculous in the right way.

On Episdoe 5. It is okay. I can see why folks think that. There are some artistic choices being made. But the dynamic between characters is still very good. Not a relaxing show.

John Cena in episode 5 is a strange cameo. Also the first episode is self indulgent high class chef nonsense. (but was interesting)

I have two episodes left. It's definitely got a different feel. Enjoying it, but probably a bit less than seasons 1&2

I will say...eight episodes in and they've really barely moved the plot forward. Lots of exposition, some cool visuals, loved the the Tina episode.

Still very interested to see what the next two do to move things along. Feel like we aren't getting enough Uncle Jimmy considering he's the spectre hanging over this season.

Finished it last night...even after the last two episodes they still did not move the plot forward much. Season 3 was definitely a lot different than 1 & 2. They really leaned heavy into the symbolism...almost like an art film at times. That being said I still really enjoyed it. Acting is great...especially Jamie Lee Curtis. She is incredible as the Mom.

I think Ep1 put some people off, because it was peak "TENSION!!" for tension's sake... and I suspect there are folks that didn't quite understand what was going on there.

We're only 2 eps in, but I'm not quite understanding the criticism. I've mostly ignored that stuff due to not wanting spoilers AND I don't like negative thoughts being put in my head before i see something. But the one snippet I read... I'm not buying the negativity at this point.
