20 years at catcher is blowing my mind. Going Pudge just because I know he came up really early and with hype.

Pitcher has to be someone in the Seaver/Palmer/Carlton era where there was enough expansion that there was never anyone even approaching a 1A with them. SS I don't think can be Jeter because of the gross playoff ankle break.

Overlapping but he probably came up a good decade after those guys.mister d wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 1:20 pm Pitcher has to be someone in the Seaver/Palmer/Carlton era where there was enough expansion that there was never anyone even approaching a 1A with them. Re: Gunpowder's Gold Star Trivia
I assume this guy has to cross over the entire 80s and the 80s just seem like such a miserable time for great SPs.

1B - This is the only really old-timey guy on the list and I doubt anyone knows him. Played for Senators, Initials are JJ.mister d wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 2:16 pm Can we get an overall "debuted before/after Jackie" level hint on the remaining?
SS - Post-Jackie. Latin. No Hof, but # retired by White Sox. Also in Orioles HoF.
LF - Practically adjacent to the guy he's tied with.
CF - You don't get a hint for this one.
RF - Post-Jackie but not much. HoF'er

Fred Lynn in right?
Although he split time I think so that's almost certainly wrong.

Re: Gunpowder's Gold Star Trivia
Nope. For RF, his streak didn't end due to incompetence, injury, or retirement.

I can't figure out LF ... Williams had service, Raines played some CF, Musial I think played 1B too, Rickey and Yaz were guessed ...

I mean, sticking close to home, I think Eddie Murray stuck at 1B pretty much exclusively and he played a looong time.
