Good story. I'm afraid he is going to have quite a struggle only averaging 250 off the tee at Augusta.

Not looking so good for tomorrow, but Friday through Sunday are perfect Nantz weather.

According to my glance at the weather channel website, it looks like the heavy stuff won't come down for a while on Thursday, and then last through Friday noon. If the conditions are bad, but not bad enough to halt play, early starters tomorrow, (who would likely start late on Friday) would have a big advantage.

Even better on sunday if he's a few strokes behind going in and wins "Gay Catches Tiger From Behind"

or if he posts a score early and everyone falters "Gay Gets Backdoor Surprise"

There are few things in golf i enjoy watching more than Arnold Palmer's abbreviated follow through, even at the age of 83.

It's absurd how good the iPad app is. MLB is about 80% as good as this, every other live sports app doesn't even deserve to be discussed in the same breath.

I don't know if that's just IBM flexing muscle or if it's Augusta National flexing their pocketbooks, but the online experience for the Masters is amazing in all formats.

I wish there was an easy way to see all the Day 1 leaders at the Masters over the years. Doesn't it feel like you'd know about 10 of them?

Same with the British Open. After Day 1, the leader is typically Hakki Uusipaavaliputter of Finland at -4. And then the guy finishes +19 on the week.

Last Several, until Wikipedia stopped round-by-round:

12 -Lee Westwood
11 - Mcilroy, Alvaro Quiros
10- Fred Couples
09 - Chad Campbell
08 - Trevor Immelman, Justin Rose
07 - Rose, Brett Wetterich
06 - Vijay Singh
05 - Chris Dimarco
04 - Justin Rose
03 - Darren Clarke
02 - Davis Love III
01 - Chris DimArco
00 - Dennis Paulson
99 - Brandel Chamblee, Love III, Scott Mccarron, Nick Price
98 - Couples
97 - John Huston
96 - Greg Norman

So I'd say Quiros, Wetterich, Paulson, Chamblee and maybe John Huston (Won 7 PGA events) are the only real outliers. Only Immelman went wire to wire.

I'm incredibly impressed with Guan. For a 14 year old kid, +1 is truly amazing.
The Masters App is the bomb. Even on the IPhone -- live coverage of approximately 30% of the field. Just click on the player. Fantastic and free.
I went to the Par 3 tournament on Wednesday. I've been fortunate enough to go to the tournament 7 or 8 times for a regular round, but had never been to a practice round. Par 3 course is just as immaculately maintained as the course itself. Can take cameras to the practice rounds, so the wife got a cool photo of Tom Watson asking Arnie Palmer for an autograph on a Master flag (for charity I assume) as he left the #2 Par 3 green. All the old guys plat the Par 3 and Nickolaus, Palmer and Player played it all together. Great photo opp. About half the field does not play in it though. Rory's girl Caroline Wozniacki -- much taller than I realized, and hotter in person. She caddied for Rory. Where I was sitting at #2, she walked through Graeme McDowell's line, and Rory had to scold her. The kids of the players have a blast caddying for their dads at the 3. Fun to watch.
Looks like the bad weather is going to blow out of Georgia so we will have golf today.

The Masters app on the iPhone is the shizznit. Makes the March Madness app look like child's play. For example...the March Madness app would shut down if your phone went to the lock screen. How freaking stupid is that?

I'd love to be able to post this on Sunday. I think if Sergio could break through and prove to himself that he can win a Major it would be good for golf. He's got game. His issues are the hardest six inches in golf.

And yes, I could have worded that better.

Hey yard of junk...All of the camping chairs out there are identical. Do you rent those or can you bring one so long as it's the approved model? I'm sure they want them all to be identical for aesthetics.
