That still looks totally clean to me. There's gonna be SOME body contact on a play at the rim. Burke has just as much right to space.

That's as good of a block of a dunk as you'll ever see from a little guy.

Is it still goaltending if you pin the ball to the glass on a block (above the rim)? I am guessing not, as I have not heard this mentioned.

It is not. You can also throw the ball at your own hoop and then stop it from going in.

So you can goal-tend a wrong-way shot? That is cool, makes sense.

Has TNT ever done this before where they have no play by play guy? I like the concept--it's like when the McEnroes do tennis matches. I just wish Reggie Miller wasn't involved.

I just watched the end of this game, and saw the play where Kobe went down. Nothing dramatic, so crazy twist or collision. Just kind of had his foot slide out from under him.

Apparently Kobe posted this on FaceFuck at 3:30am this morning:

This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??

I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me...Then again maybe not! It's 3:30am, my foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I'm wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what's the purpose of social media if I won't bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.

One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day.

"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer.

I know it's a long post but I'm Facebook Venting LOL. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge.

Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of this season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come thru.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much Love Always.

Is it possible that (if they hold on to the 8 seed) the Lakers (without Kobe) could be one of the worst playoff teams in recent memory? They were so painful to watch this season, and that was before it became Earl Clark time.

They aren't brilliant. But there are a couple of Raptors seasons that I'd throw into such a conversation.

A Nash/Gasol/Howard nucleus aint that bad...its a lot better than what Orlando had last year with Howard on the shelf. It might also be better than Chicago without Rose.

Yeah, I've only seen about 5 or 6 Lakers games this year, so I'm going off what is admittedly a very small sample size. Just seems like every time I've watched them this year the offence is completely stagnant, the defence is atrocious, and they just look old. And then Kobe bails them out. Also, I think referring to a Nash/Gasol/Howard nucleus is a tad misleading since Nash looks spent and Howard still looks hurt. They certainly aren't the same players that they have been. Regardless, I assume that you watch a lot more Lakers than I do, so I will defer to your judgment on this one.

I won't try to herd Keg's sheep on this one, il miglior fabbro. I watch many Lakers games. Most, actually, because out here on the West Side (represent!) we get 'em all. Although I confess to favoring the Clippers and my sentimental favorites outta Golden State.

But the Lakers just are not sharp. It's like taking five or six decent musicians, forcing them in to a studio, and saying "okay, make a brilliant album". And then, when the album sucks, blame the producer.

Half that team may end up in the Hall Of Fame, for all I know, but that doesn't mean they can, or even like, playing together. It's not a happy team. Not a team in their happy place. And some of the shit they pull is flat out dirty and gets tiresome. Perhaps that's a result of expecting wins to come their way simply because, well, they are the Lakers, and those wins just didn't happen automatically because wins just do not happen automatically. I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen them down 20-points in the 3rd this year, mount a semi-comeback to get within 10 and then . . . lose by about 8. And far more often that not, that was Kobe getting frustrated, taking the ball, and putting some points up down the stretch.

Maybe Kobe has to go. He won't. Not on an injury. He'll be back. And this year will also be next year. And . . . Chipper Jones. Mind you, apropos of nothing perhaps, look at the Braves lately.

The Rockets will not finish within 10 points in any game against the Thunder. They've run out of gas. Not a bad result for the youngest team in the league. Bring on Josh Smith.

Anyone else find the TNT font for the game score horrible? I've got it on HD on 50" and better than decent eyesight and I'm constantly guessing what the score. Right now it is 65-86 (i think) and I can easily see it as any combination of those numbers if I just flipped to it.

David "Willis" Lee off the bench for the dubs. And I had only heard rumours of this Andrew Bogut guy; personally I had doubted he existed. But he is slapping Nuggets' shots around like he is Mutombo. 42-40 Denver at the half. Kinda low scoring (no one shooting 55% or higher tonight).

The combined mental fortitude shown by the Nuggets and Warriors in the final 90 seconds is about what you would expect in a game played by nine-year-olds.

Blake Griffin definitely has some cheap shot bitch in him. Please see his scrap with Randolph tonight.

I do enjoy the Grizz fans' shirts in support of Tony Allen (navy blue with yellow graphic is much better, but couldn't find a nice-sized photo... and lacked the desire to do the legwork of fixing one):

And they were gifted a couple of very uncharacteristic turnovers by the Spurs, one each from Parker and Ginobili.

Of course, Kent Bazemore may have made if all okay.
