Sorting all Yankees with 300+ PAs in the past ten seasons by OBP (88 seasons in all), the 2014 players rank:

52nd
55th
64th
66th
75th

Granted, this is coming off a 2013 season where the qualifying players were 13th, 56th, 76th, 78th, 83rd, 84th, 85th and 87th. So I'm really just showing this to highlight the improvement.

Why are all of Cleveland's relievers initially trying to look like child molesters?

Couldn't quite bend that mistake to my will, so I'll just point it out. Haha spellcheck.

That looks like some William Howard Taft/Teddy Roosevelt /Greg Louganis combo.

The Reds have brought up a few guys who might actually be interesting to watch, but instead continue to run out Skip Schumacher and Ryan Ludwick in LF. Because...well, I don't know. Price said something about "making a run", but I can only assume that means he's been into Welker's molly stash.

Only team in baseball now without a 50-walk guy. (Yes, Votto being out is the only reason.) Was surprised and then not surprised when I heard that stat after Alex Gordon got his 50th walk for the Royals, making the Reds the only team to not have one.

It has been unwatchable for months. One of the least enjoyable Reds teams in awhile.

I agree . I used to ahve them on in the background all the time at night, but just don't understand not giving some of the younger guys some playing time at this point. At least Negron is getting everyday shots.

It has crossed my mind that perhaps it would be cool if they could clinch at home. Far enough ahead I hope that I am not jinxing things by even having that thought.

He seems like (and supposedly is) a really nice guy, so hope it's nothing bad. I'd bet any amount of money if he wants to he's managing a team somewhere by April 2016.

Maybe, now that he has some distance, he's being crushed by the realization he let Cruz stay in RF in a close, clinching game.

Jake Peavey tonight: 6ip 6h 2r 0er 0bb 3Ks. 85 pitches. No big deal. 'cept, for the 2:42 rain delay in the middle of his outing. He did have a 7 run cushion. But, damn. I guess a veteran who knows his arm and body can get away with that shit.

Astros could have the leaders in average, hits, and home runs. They've won their last five and are 50-52 over their last 102 and Springer's been out for over a month. The future is definitely bright, regardless of what Olney or Gammons or the hacks at the local rag want you to believe.

I added Carter to my fantasy team a couple months ago when he was still flirting with the Mendoza line, and he's been awesome. If he can hit ~.270 like he has for the past several weeks, his power will be pretty damn valuable going forward.

I liked firing Porter (and Towers) now rather than running out the season. No reason to delay something like that.

Bamgarner and David Price, pitchers duel in Detroit. 4-2 giants, after one. one. Hitters not impressed.

(This update for Brian, who is likely otherwise occupied. Fire up, Chips!)

You must not be a member of the Houston media! Now they're completely killing the organization for letting the AA manager go. One of them got snippy with Keith Law yesterday.

Chad Qualls has given up 19 er all season in 47 1/3 innings. 12 of those have been to the A's in 4 innings.

Hopefully the Giants knock Lobstein around, since I'll win my fantasy playoff matchup unless Lobstein tosses a gem tonight.

It's just so surreal. 11 game homestand starting Friday, with 7 against the Yankees and Jays. I think they can close it out at home.
