Twenty20

Post by degenerasian »

I wonder if Twenty20 cricket will ever catch on the US? It seems like the perfect sport for Americans. It's fast, action packed and exciting. It has lots of numbers and statistics and sabermetrics. I hear that fantasy cricket in India is huge.

Games take about 3 hours. Basically one team throws 120 pitches at the other. Batting team gets a total then they reverse and chase that total down.

It's caught on in Canada as international cricket tournaments and IPL are shown on Sportsnet World and Sportsnet ONE and is getting decent ratings.

Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..

I watched 10 minutes of that. No, it won't catch on.

Just realized I have the channel, Willow. It's cricket 24 hrs a day. Well that, and adverts about sending money to India.

One could develop a new fandom.

Why would any of us develop a fandom for sending money to India? Moron.

The Nigerian prince promised me that if I sent him $1,000USD that I'd get my money back tenfold. He's stuck in Calcutta without his wallet!

And if we don't send money to India, how will they be able to keep building call centers?

These commercials are great. Visitors Coverage is an insurance company for visiting relatives. IIFA ads (Bollywood Oscars, here in Tampa, later this year), and an app for picking the restaurant with the best chicken saag.

Nice response. I've always been fascinated by cricket, and formerly living in a town that boasts the largest Indian population in The US, I saw pickup games everywhere. An Indian friend keeps offering to bring me along, and I'd love to give it a go. I even nicknamed myself the Maharaja of Sixes. I'm also contemplating Johnny Six-Shooter.

Fuck that app. Saag paneer or no saag at all.

I was wondering where Mr. D went. I only had a facebook connection with him, and it looks like he's off that site.

Were both teams wearing blue or do I just really not know what the hell I'm looking at with cricket?

yup, it doesn't matter what teams wear, they only have one uniform.

In test cricket both teams wear white.
