(This was just stupid; I knew the birthdate was way too early for Napoleon, but I could think of no one else, so I went with the same wrong answer that all three tv contestents missed with. As stated above, the failure to win a battle w/o French assistance, plus the fact that the war was conducted an ocean away and posed zero threat to the home islands make this a stupid fucking answer, but whaddaya gonna do?)
