I did NOT devote this amount of time in rebuilding a community to endure some senseless barking at me over one's personal obsession.

When I say something stupid, I expect to be called out on it. That's The Swamp. What you posted, directly at me, is unacceptable. Frankly, sickening. I've put a tremendous amount of effort into the forum and I'll take criticism, I welcome it, when applicable.

One thing Scottie has dead right is that he can now (threaten or actually) take out anyone he chooses. Yesterday sucked all around but if this place is going to add a little to the suck rather than take a little away, I don't really see a point so I'm going to head out with Romero and Ryan. I'll still read (and I imagine as a quitter I should reserve the right to quit my quitting), but as far as participating goes, I'm done. Enjoy the swamp and remember to say your daily thank yous.

Jesus Christ, things get out of hand quickly around here. I'm not leaving. I don't propose to ban anyone. What we do need is a board free from bullying and threats. For fuck's sake, these are words people write, not actions. Disagree if you want, but the threats ruin the community.

I knew that when I sent an email to Turd he'd immediately post it here. That's obvious. And instead of apologizing he decided to be a complete ass about everything. That's also predictable.

Framing what I sent to him in the most negative light, to support himself, is also not unpredictable. I can easily post a screen-cap of an email from Turd to me that says "I like lamp, I like, floor, I like drapes." Yet, why bother? There's no point to it.

If someone posted a hideous comment about you, as Turd did toward me, would you take any umbrage? I suspect so. As well you should.

We don't really have any rules here in The Swamp. But I do like to believe there is, or was, a sense of decency.

I think you had every right to take umbrage at Turd's comment to you. I personally thought his Condit reference was funny, and did not agree with your initial jab at him for it, but still, his response was over the top and uncalled for and unnecessarily personal.

But there is a difference between taking umbrage and threatening to kick people off the Swamp.

I appreciate the effort you went through these past few weeks to rebuild the Swamp. But you also had that thing from back then to atone for, in my view, so I basically look at it as all evened up. Regardless of how I view it, though, I think the suggestion to Delaware that you could ban him was totally improper. Yes, you did a lot of work to bring this place back up, but it is not yours.

But whatever. My main point is that no one involved in yesterday's fracas can claim to be innocent, and any one of you could have stopped the escalation simply by laying off.
