If Bochy takes Bumgarner out now the Giants deserve to lose.

I’m starting to think that Derek Jeter isn’t going to play in this series at all.

Royals could have gotten 9 outs in this inning and I don't think it would have mattered.

Shit. Really wanted to see the Royals win.

Anyway, congratulations Giants--and I'm saying this sincerely as a Dodgers fan. Three titles in five years is a hell of an achievement, especially in this day and age, and Baumgartner's performance deserves its place in history. Here's hoping it registers a bigger place in the national consciousness than Derek Jeter's next random fart.

fifth champagne 'braish. Guess they'll do it again in 2016.

The 'D' word is gonna be applied to this team. Most unlikely team to have that label? Most inappropriate use of the word? (And I love this friggin' 2014 team, much more than the other two.)

Nice of the Giants win to tamp the dirt down on the grave of Allen 'Bud' Selig.

1. Sabean probably is friends with Jim Dolan

2. Bochy is really tall for a catcher.

3. Selig's breath smells like tuna I'm positive

Congrats Howard!

I like these low-key TEAM teams with no real superstars (that anyone knows about). Sort of like the LA Kings as well. Just nice guys, nobody on the microphone yelling "to all the doubters, fuck you!"

Seahawks might actually be too brash to succeed.

95 percent serious question. Is it irony that SF probably wins because the game is played in an AL park and they don't have to think about pinch hitting for Bumgardner.

Absolutely. Despite his good bat. Imagine the gut-wrenching decision(s) for Bochy in that case.

I think with the lead he would have hit for himself.

Chevy Colorado trending. Chevy guy is getting a promotion. Bad press is good press.

Eh. He's a good hitting pitcher and the Giants have a bad hitting bench. It would be justifiable in all but a putaway kind of PA.

2-Year-Old Never Thought He Would Live To See Giants Win World Series

Image
SAN FRANCISCO—Joyously celebrating after his hometown team defeated the Kansas City Royals to clinch the championship, local 2-year-old Daniel Balane admitted to reporters Wednesday night that he never thought he would actually see the San Francisco Giants win a World Series in his lifetime. “I’ve waited my whole life for the Giants to win the World Series, and it’s just so surreal to actually see it finally happen,” said the 2-year-old toddler, adding that as far back as he can remember, the Giants have only been a mediocre National League team that couldn’t even make the playoffs. “Deep down, I always held out some hope that it could eventually happen, but after waiting for so long, you start to think they’ll just never get over the hump. So, when they finally won tonight, all that pent-up emotion just came pouring out. I still don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet. I mean, we did it—we’re world champs!” Balane went on to say that the Giants’ playoff run was the most exciting he’s witnessed since watching the San Francisco 49ers make it to the NFC Championship Game all the way back in 2013.

It was fun reading all the posts. For the record you feckers, Howard is not the only Giants fan here! (But, clearly is he more serious and less of a fair weather fan than me.)

I watched the game last night with four other Bay Area folks in the bar of the north Ann Arbor Applebees (only because it is connected to our Hampton Inn.) We we getting lit by the end of the game, and we were just the kind of assholes you don't want sitting near you. Talking loudly, chanting slogans, high fiving, more shots, you know the drill...

My belated apologies to all the Royals and Tigers fans who had to put up with us...

I did not know that. Good for him. I had a chance to talk to him for a while at the Swamp Orioles outing a few years ago and he's a good guy.
