For a while I've regretted not appreciating him more when I was younger. I stupidly thought he was a "bad" announcer because he didn't have any fun catchphrases and gave minimalist descriptions of plays. Now I wish we could have cloned him to replace every active NFL play-by-play guy aside from Al Michaels and maybe Dick Stockton.

I regret not being able to appreciate him more because he was teamed up with That Fuck John Madden for as long as I can remember.

As the voice of early Madden incarnations, Summerall is certainly one of the voices of football that i remember. Like Vin Scully and Harry Caray in baseball.

Add in his golf and yeah, this is a big broadcasting loss.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.
