It's two NFC South teams, so that's questionable.

Great, another NFC South Thursday matchup.

Carolina seems to get a lot of these, no?

If you think one per season is a lot, yes. If you have them confused with either Tampa Bay or Atlanta, who played earlier this year on Thursday, then extremely yes.

True, I guess every team would have to get one. Just seems like a lot of Thursday games in Carolina in my mind. Probably going crazy.

Two all-NFC South national games in the first 9 weeks of the season is cruel and unusual punishment (though I'm presuming it should be a relatively close game at least, being in Carolina and all.)

But this is why we gamble.

With the Bills off this weekend, I may be the only person in Canada who wants to see the Browns-Bucs game. Otherwise, looking forward to seeing the Arizona-Dallas game. A real litmus test for both teams, unless Romo is out. And then for the first time, I'll have the pleasure of watching Brandon Weeden from the other side. Which I imagine is almost as much fun as watching Geno Smith.

So I managed to avoid most this week's hotsportsztakeson the Patriots Broncos game. Patriots have a talented secondary (although Browner will probably be called for 10 penalties), but I don't think they'll generate enough of a pass rush with Jones out, and the Broncos will probably run all over them like they did last year. Yes, they don't have Moreno, but the Pats don't have Mayo or Spikes. On offense, the Broncos pass rush really hurt Brady in the championship game (and was one the reasons I didn't mind seeing them let Mankins go), so that's worrisome. However, Gronk is healthy. Other than QB, I don't know if there is more a valuable player to a team's offense. Ok, Calvin Johnson, but the Pats offense is ridiculously better with him (Gronk, not Johnson(Calvin, not Bethel)).

Patriots 55, Broncos 10

Referee's explanation/announcement sums up Brandon Weeden.
There was no intentional grounding on the play, because the quarterback was not under pressure.

This week Chip Kelly faced the exact scenario as last week, 4th and 1 at the opponents 4 with 3-4 minutes left and he went for it this time. Got his TD and Eagles are now up by 10

I am beginning to love the Cardinals.

And as a Browns fan, I never knew how much fun it was to have money riding against Brandon Weeden.

I have just seen Denver given a pass interference call in the end Zone and then score a TD. Is it just me or did the play by the DB look like a great play?

Browner has a reputation. Little BS in my opinion. Lots of holding on the ensuing TD run as well.

Denver OL's have been guilty of holding without getting called and taking more cheap shots than any other team since I started watching the NFL in the early 80's

Just watched the replay several times and the LG, LT, both strong side TE's and the motion TE could have been called for holding, strangely on a strong side run...

Fox displayed another stat graphic that surprised me. Hoyer is the first Browns QB to have 200+ yards passing in eight consecutive games since Brian Sipe in 1983. I know the Browns historically are a running team, but that stat seemed a bit extreme.

Watching the Seahawks game for monetary reasons, and looking at the rest of their schedule....we're going to have a new champion this year.

Pete Carroll did that move a couple of years ago and even though it worked, I felt it was the wrong play as not succeeding - and skipping a guaranteed chance of a win - was too risky.

See what happens when the Niners miss the playoffs because of that bit of hubris.

A wife beater cheap shots Blount, which is followed by more cheap shots and scuffles. Chris Collinsworth then says, "this is great, " as he rubs his nipples.

I haven't quit watching the NFL yet (wimp) but I have stopped watching that matchup. I reached the limits of my cynicism with it during the Thanksgiving game last year.

Admittedly, it's a very subjective thing to say who had the best single passing game ever, but I'd be hard-pressed to think anyone has ever had a better 2 game stretch. 862, 12 TD, 77%, 0 picks? Crazy.

I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned here, but why wasn't Akeem Ayers flagged 15 yards for his low sack of Peyton Manning? I fucking cringed seeing the highlight of it, but everyone seemed to love his awesomeness at defense. All I could think was that New England got away with one.

I didn't think it was too low. It was close, but it looked above the knees. I would have been pissed if they had called that (not because I cared about the game, but just because they call way too many penalties these days).

I think he missed his target and got him a little higher than he wanted, but it's safe to say that was a blatant attempt to injure. The internet would be blowing up if it was Harrison.
