I've seen that picture going around the interwebs. I can't figure out for the life of me what's interesting about it.

Re: NFL Week 10
The thing I find perplexing about it is that, while Anderson was going 2/17 in a game with a breeze and no rain, Jamal Lewis was still able to average just under 3.8 yards a carry. I mean, nine in the box has to be in play for a large portion of that game, right?Pruitt wrote:But here's the classic Derek Anderson performance.

Gotta find the play-by-play on that one.

Suggs got fine $8,268 for that shit on Blount. That seems awfully arbitrary.

I think he's just pulling numbers out of his ass at this point. Not that he hasn't always done that.brian wrote:Could at least round that shit up to $8300

Spent 12 strenuous seconds Googling where the fines come from and found this:
http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/08/20/nfl-fi ... 014-season" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'd have to bet that it's a percentage of something.

Not if he's still sore down there from all the stuff he pulled out regarding the recent player suspensions.

Re: NFL Week 10
Carson Palmer was signed to a three-year, $50 million extension today, but, in keeping with the trend of non-elite quarterback contracts, there is no guaranteed money after next year.

Off to Buffalo in the morning for the game against the Chiefs. A big game in Orchard Park in November? Can it be?

Re: NFL Week 10
Why did the Lions fake a punt? The Dolphins were doing nothing.
Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..
Re: NFL Week 10
The Lions should try to talk Eddie Murray out of retirement to kick for them at this point. And if they can't get their ex-kicker, maybe try the former Orioles 1B. Either can't be much worse than their current option.

The Bills may have lost but the Buffalo fan dressed as Andy Reid holding a menu for his play chart won the day.

What a shitty game.
Not sure what was worse, the refs, the play calling or the execution.
The Bills' defence is legitimately good, but considering that they have Green Bay, New England, Denver, Miami, Cleveland, Jets & Oakland, I don't see anything better than 9-7 this year, so time for those four sad words: Wait Til Next Year.

Re: NFL Week 10
There's also the hope of success in what we know around here as the Lions' Superbowl -- the NFL draft. It's something we've learned to look forward to with great anticipation. Sadly, the next season of actual games follows so soon.

For a brief moment yesterday, the Lions, Bills and Browns were in playoff positions.
Guess God woke up around halftime.

Last major injury he had was 11 days after he signed a contract as well.phxgators wrote:He had good timing with signing that contract...DSafetyGuy wrote:Carson Palmer was signed to a three-year, $50 million extension today, but, in keeping with the trend of non-elite quarterback contracts, there is no guaranteed money after next year.

Re: NFL Week 10
Since 1998, Matthew Stafford has the most game-winning touchdowns (passes and runs) by an NFL quarterback in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter with eight. He has 70 career starts. Put another way, roughly one out of every eight games he has played in the NFL has ended with him running or scoring a game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes left.

Re: NFL Week 10
This really isn't a crazy idea. The Falcons did that a few years ago with Morton Anderson after a couple of failed kickers in pre-season and early in the season. (I think one was Matt Prater). They grabbed Morton our of retirement at 49 or so. He couldn't kick over 45 yards or so, but the punter kicked off, and he was still money from 45 and in.L-Jam3 wrote:The Lions should try to talk Eddie Murray out of retirement to kick for them at this point.
