I scored my highest total starting a RB who was supposed to come off of IR, but didn't dress. It is slim pickings on bye weeks in that league. Hell, it is slim pickings without byes.Giff wrote:I won a game in the Swamp league starting Blake Bortles.

Yeah, i have 4 starters off this week. Kinda crappy week and not gonna lose sleep over one game when i currently sit at 8-1 with a 4 game division lead. The Sybian wrote:I scored my highest total starting a RB who was supposed to come off of IR, but didn't dress. Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
Amen..with Foles getting hurt I had to put in waivers wire picks of Carr and Glennon figuring one of them may come through. Due to byes I am going with Toby Gerhart & Denard Robinson as my starting RBs. (Denard Robinson as the last pick of the draft has been a good one for me with him having both WR and RB position options). The Sybian wrote:I scored my highest total starting a RB who was supposed to come off of IR, but didn't dress. Robinson was a pickup for me a few weeks back when Foster was questionable and has been a great play so far.

I have to give the Green Bay Icehounds guy credit (wlu_lax's friend). Last week I traded him Andre Ellington for three guys. This week I play against him, and guess which three guys are all on bye week? Yup. Didn't see that coming.

I'll be sitting Andre Johnson to play Denard Robinson at WR. Considering I just acquired Megatron, that's a good problem to have.

Not really a problem considering Johnson has 2 10+ point games all year.

Matt Ryan v Carolina; or
RGIII v. TB
TB really sucks against the pass, and Carolina isn't much better. RGIII is a bit of a crap shoot coming off the injury, but probably more upside with Ryan not looking great. I'm thinking I play it safe, as I am favored to win, and just need one win or 2nd place team to lose one to clinch the division.

Ryan on an average day will put up better numbers than RG III version 2.0

I'm playing someone who scored 10 points last night between their QB and one of their WRs. Did I mention I'm 10-0 in this league and 17 other Swampers are in it?

Who the fuck is Jonas Gray, and why the fuck did he take all of Shane Vereen's fantasy points?

That's the same league that has a guy who is 6-4, started 2 guys on bye this week, and has not picked up a single player this year.Giff wrote:I'm playing someone who scored 10 points last night between their QB and one of their WRs. My team is 9-1 (and will win tonight unless LaVeon Bell goes all Jonas Gray.
Last week, a 5-5 team lost Carson Palmer and was left with McCown and Orton at QB.
I offered him Cutler (my starter is Peyton), Fred Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins for one of his scrub QBs, LeSean McCoy and Dwayne Allen. Thought I was being generous.
Turned down flat with a sarcastic email. The guy addressed his QB issue by dropping McCown for Sanchez, and Cutler put up 45 points and Allen got hurt.
Love it.

I would turn that down as well. Even though McCoy is not producing like he has in the past, I would not let him go for a handful of replacement level players. You need to step up your offer if you want it to be taken seriously.

Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
It was just a "why not?" sort of thing. Cutler is - hard as it is to believe - the 11th ranked QB, so he would have had a big upgrade there..
I'm solid at RB, with Morris and Ellington and Bradshaw... or rather, I WAS solid.
I seriously figured there'd be a counter offer, but buddy thinks he can squeak into the playoffs with Sanchez and Orton, good luck to him.

I could have started the 49ers vs. sad sack Washington. But the Chiefs vs. the Raiders in the rain seemed like a potential bonanza. [sigh] Not so much.

Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
I'm pissed nobody in my league took me up on my trade requests. I should have pushed harder, but the teams out of the playoffs stopped caring. Even thought it is a keeper league. I am so stacked at WR, it is ridiculous. It is a WR heavy league, but you can only play 3. I have Demaryius Thomas, Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon, Mike Evans and Golden Tate. Tate is sitting as long as Calvin Johnson is playing. I figured his points would take a major hit, but Evans broke out just on time. I pushed for Gronk and Graham, as Martellus Bennett is going through his typical plunge after the first couple of weeks. My QB situation is weak too, with Matt Ryan, Tannehill, and I just picked up McCown. McCown has put up surprising numbers.
So Gordon. Does he immediately produce, or will it take a couple of weeks. From what I understand, the change in rules allowed him to practice with the team, so hopefully he is in shape and not too rusty. QB is going to be a tough decision every week, most likely with 3 mediocre performances. I love having clear cut starters, and not having to torture myself with who to start, then kick myself for making the wrong move.

9-3 and rolling into the playoffs.
Replaced Bradshaw with Latavius Murray - RBs are Morris, Ellington, Murray, Fred Jackson and his backup Bryce Brown.
WRs are Maclin, Kelvin Benjamin, DeAndre Hopkins and Ruben Randle (blech!) and Martavis Bryant.
Peyton at QB, just might be enough...

101 points from DeAndre Hopkins and the Rams defence.
It just doesn't get any better than that.

Earlier this season my opponent sat Roethlisberger and missed his 500 yard epic.

Made the playoffs in the last week of the season starting 4 players I've never heard of and Mark Sanchez.

You'll still get the top seed. Pretty good for an 18-team league.Giff wrote:There goes my undefeated season!

In an otherwise forgettable set of fantasy campaigns, finally made the right call in the one league where I have a chance at the playoffs, picking up Stills on waiver and starting him on Sunday ahead of Vincent Jackson.

Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
First round of playoffs and I had my worst week in ages.
Starting with Peyton who brought 6 big points while Cutler had 45 on the bench.
Bad starts at RB, WR and TE with my highest scorer by a mile being the Rams D/ST...
But the guy I'm up against had a similarly crap week - Rivers his starter. So tonight, if Eddie Lacy gets under 31 points, I head into the semis.

My team went all Hood-at-the-movies in the wild card round. I probably deserved even worse.
Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
I make the playoffs if Cobb scores under 18 tonight so if you're in the Green Bay area feel free to treat him to several afternoon drinks. Hey, just thought of a sequel idea for Celtic Pride.
Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
3rd seed out of 18 teams in the Swamp league. But, I crashed and burned in the first round of the playoffs, led over the cliff by Peyton throwing for only 170 yards with 2 picks and no touchdowns.

Alright you lovely bitches and hoes, I need to pick up a defense this week. here are who is available.
My heart says Browns against Dalton and because they've been playing well, but i don't know if that's just my heard or my head too

Re: 2014 Fantasy Football Complains/Brags/Help Catchall
Fuck Dalton. After Week 9 I was 8-1 and only needed one win in the next 5 weeks to wrap up a playoff spot. I put Dalton in my QB2 slot, and he had the ArmaDalton on that Thursday night when we wondered if he was either shaving points or high on LSD. That kicked off me losing 5 weeks in a row and missing the playoffs completely. As a final fuck you to me, I sat him this past Sunday (30 points) for Eli (considerably less) and Eli's Pick-Six finished me off. I changed my team name to 1994 Philadelphia Eagles to reflect this.
So I guess do whatever the opposite I do with Dalton this week. If I play him, he'll suck so go with Cleveland. If I sit him, he'll blow up, so the Browns are a no-go. I'll let you know what I'm doing tomorrow morning.
