Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Re: NFL Week 15
I thought Arizona clinched, thanks to their wins over Dallas, Detroit and Philly. I can't think of how an 11-5 Arizona team misses out. Would it be a 3-way 11-5 tie involving Green Bay and the East runner-up?brian wrote:I think it's kind of fascinating that there are 7 teams competing for 6 playoffs spots in the NFC (technically, more than that, but we're just slotting "random crappy NFC South team" in) and after Week 15, no one has locked up a playoff spot. Any of the 6 non-NFCS teams competing for 5 spots could miss the playoffs with the right sequence of events. I played with the ESPN playoff machine and there's a scenario where a 11-5 GB team misses the playoffs.

I think you're right. They just needed DAL- PHI to not end in a tie.

Geno Smith scoffs at calling that a bad game.Pruitt wrote:
An epically bad line: 1/15 4 yds (yes, FOUR) and 2 Ints.

Well, that's depressing. Good column though.howard wrote:Joepoz on the Debut of Johnny Football
I particularly like this quotation:
I have seen the Browns play a few games like this during the season - against the Texans, Bills and the Jaguars - games where they made their opponent look much better than they are.2. The team around Manziel played brain-dead football, as if they had been woken up a few minutes before gametime and told, “Oh yeah, I forgot, we have a game this week!” You can’t blame this clunker of a game on Manziel any more than you can blame the movie Jack and Jill on Al Pacino.

Poz's take is the perfect one. He played bad, team played bad, but there's no sense in calling him a failure just yet, even if the odds point that direction.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.

Do all three of NO/ATL/Car control their own destiny? It looks that way from the schedule. That's crazy to me.

For some reason I thought CAR played NO. I can't read good.

Re: NFL Week 15
How many of the Bears' 20 coaches will be back next season?
Looks like Special Teams Coach Joe DeCamillis is in a bit of trouble.

fake punt with an illegal formation and only 10 men on the field? Nice...

I was surprised last night at how critical Gruden was of Cutler, Trestman, DeCamillis, etc. He was ready to fire every one of them. Not that they didn't deserve harsh criticism, just that you don't usually get that from Gruden.

You clearly didn't see the love fest Tirico gave him at the start of the second half. He apparently just signed a new deal.Gunpowder wrote:Gruden might want their job!
