You underestimate the long ingrained tOSU inferiority complex where Michigan is concerned.
Urban Meyer's total 2014 compensation is less than $4.6MM. They're not going to give him a raise of 75% to pass a potential $8MM deal for Harbaugh.

At least for Nick Saban, it's a more modest (in coaching salary and percentage terms) hike as his total comp is ~$7.1MM.

I hear that Saban also gets 10% of whatever they slip the players under the table. So he really is making over $10M. And no taxes on those tips.

Finally an early bowl game that I'm actually looking forward to. But that's probably just because one of my best friends is from West Virginia so I've seen a ton of their games

You just want to scout out the offense.

They obviously have no reason to give him a big raise. Everyone knows he isn't going anywhere so he has no leverage, but they will just so Michigan isn't paying their head coach $2.5M a year more.

I didn't even think of that to be honest. I forgot Shannon Dawson was still going to coach the bowl game.

It's apparently a student assistant, who presumably will fired before the plane leaves Memphis (if he isn't already).

Harbaugh's greatness is so great that he could probably coach the Lions' offense to vast, unfathomable success on Sundays after finishing up with the Wolverine's latest dominating victory on Saturdays.

Kind of like those race car drivers who run at two tracks within 24 hours. Compared to this extreme form of physical exertion, how challenging would it be to Harbaugh? He'll just exude greatness and good things will happen all around him. That's why he gets a lot more money than more limited guys like Meyer, Saban, and Dantonio.

And you totally know that if Harbaugh killed a dude on Saturday while coaching the Wolverines to yet another victory, he'd still man up and coach the next day.

Or allegedly killed, if he stepped onto the field of play.

Guys, I'm stuck at home with the kids tonight and want to wager on some college football action. The issue is that I don't follow the sport very closely. Please tell me what to do. Thanks.

Well, I made my biggest bet of the bowl season thus far on Arizona -3 against Boise State. Boise is overrated and Arizona is essentially playing a home game. Motivation shouldn't be an issue for them.

Thinking we might have a 6 or 8 team playoff here pretty soon. (and yes I know there's a contract for 4 teams for X number of years. Contracts were made to be broken.)

Done, thanks. Could only get -3.5, hopefully that half point doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.

I was going to say I don't have much of a feeling for that one. But if I lose on Arizona somehow I might end up chasing. If I do, I'll probably take Miss. St. -4.5. I think Ga. Tech has benefitted from a lot of luck this year.

I would have missed both early games today and taken the Bulldogs in the Orange.

Tomorrow I would go Auburn, Missouri, Baylor, Oregon and Alabama. But I think I'm at less than 50% in the only bowl pick 'em I did this year (against the spread that is).

Brent wondering why Vandy doesn't run the triple option...if an SEC team ran a system that emphasized cut blocking, then cut blocking would be outlawed within 2 years.
