What was that piano and strings thing, right after Otis Redding?
I'll hang up and take my answer over the air.

Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Ah. If I had a couple of bong hits on board, I surely would've recognized it.

Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
'Summerbreeze' is the finest possible antidote to what I see out my window right now. Actually, an hour ago. Right now it's pitch black. That's winter in Michigan.
Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
I've never really been a top 40 guy, well except for 40 years past when it was in the top 40, but I've always had a love of Summer songs.

Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
Well yeah. That was easily among the top 40 of Top 40s in history.
Also, that was some groovy Live In Miami track.

Almost as good as the Captain.

Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
Among the many bootlegs of Marvin Gaye concerts, there is said to be one that featured him and The Captain jamming on the keys. The Captain's prowess was well known. Less known was that Marvin could play some fine piano. Marvin's vocalization of 'Muskrat Love' is said to be legendary by the few people who possess a tape. The instrumental solos on the 27 minute song are like a combination of Thelonious Monk and Vlad Horowitz. Possibly the best unheard song ever. Up there with the Dead playing 'Take The A Train' with the Ellington band at Red Rocks in 1967.
Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
One of my favorite things about Red Rocks lore is that they refused to book rock bands for most of the 70s because of the behavior of fans at a Jethro Tull show. To much mead I suppose.

Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
Probably hard to balance one-legged among the rocks.
Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
Truth be told, I'd go shit house bonkers if I'd been able to see that iteration of Tull at Red Rocks in 1973 or so.... When they still did excerpts of Thick As Brick.
Damn looks like it a was in 71 so prior to TAB, a rollicking Wond'rn Aloud perhaps?

Most likely rioting over PP&M's refusal to sing the 3rd verse of Puff The Magic Dragon, you know the one advocating drug use.DC47 wrote:Race riots?

- Find Heavy D and slowly strangle him to death with a light-gauge high E guitar string. While listening to The Thrill is Gone

Re: SwampRadio is Back!!
Use a heavier gauge. Recommend low-E or A.

That would certainly reduce the risk of the string breaking. But I was hoping to extend the well-deserved pain.
