Yup. I know it's Burnley and all, but this is a much better performance.

I can't be bothered to figure it out, but there is no way that any team in the world spends so much for so little. Between them they make in the neighbourhood of $18-22 million and have a combined 45 appearances for 6 goals.

So fucking incestuous. Likely a "make up" for a potential '22 World Cup move.

Chelsea got screwed by the ref today. They should have had two penalty kicks in the first half, one on a very clear hand ball. Then in the second half, Barnes on Burnley tried to break Matic's leg, with no call. Matic lost his head and got a red card. A few minutes later, Burnley tied it up.

Watched the League Cup final with 200 or so Spurs fans and it was pretty grim.

How dare Chelsea have defenders who play that well in big games?

And when Spurs bring on Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado when they are in desperate need for a goal, you can pretty much tell that things won't end well.

Had a 3 team parlay on Bayern to win, Chelsea to win, and Real to win. Thank fuck Real was the last game, and I was wise enough to hedge. The original money wagered was a $500 free bet, so no money out there, but a $50 hedge on Villareal to win and the teams to tie, ended up making me $200.

Top U.S. U-17er signs...with the Cosmos. Haji Wright was a member of the L.A. Galaxy Academy. He is a solid prospect that has no way of getting the passport to play in Europe until he turns 18. Guess New York gives him more flexibility than the MLS (or the Galaxy is too deep to let him go pro right now as they would have his rights).

This old lady is awesome:

93 year old Reading die hard fan getting ready for the FA Cup semi-final tomorrow.

Image
Yet her distaste for all things Arsenal runs a bit deeper, right back to the late 1920s. Blame her father, Arthur. “I didn’t really know about football then but dad used to stand by the window on a Sunday morning checking his Pools coupon,” Platten says. “And he’d say: ‘Bloody hell, Arsenal have let me down again.’

“He was always grumbling about them. ‘That blasted team’ he called them. I think that’s maybe why I’ve always disliked Arsenal.”
Very enjoyable story here...

I have a spot in my heart for Reading. Only reason..Bobby Convey and Marcus Hannehman. Sort of the reason I like Watford for giving Jay DeMerit a Disney movie career. I don't have the same feeling with Reading because of Danny Williams.

Just a quick post for the Blanco retirement after the 4-2 Copa MX trophy. One of the few Mexican players that I can say I am a fan of. I did not really pick up his career until his years with the Fire, but he always looked like he was playing with pure joy on the field. I also liked his goal celebration.

I can't believe he was still playing. 42 yo, but I would have thought older. I hated him with such a passion in his Mexico heyday. I remember him as being a dirty player, but searching for evidence of that is coming up blank. Some sick skills and creativity. Taking a couple long balls off his back and ass, hitting teammates in stride. Scoring in practice with his back off of a cross, some sick back heel goals off of crosses.

Just saw a feature on that team - 6 years ago, they finished 21st in League Two. And now they are a new team for Spurs to drop important late season points against.
