considering i blame the loss in march at swans for the season going to heck (that and the europa league and not wildly out performing our peripherals again this year), i'm glad they could assist us against wigan.

I've always had a soft spot for Plucky Little Wigan, but sorry boys, fuck you.

Both Newcastle and Wigan have games remaining against Arsenal. Newcastle's other game is away at QPR, and Wigan's is home against Villa.

That gives me no comfort whatsoever.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

i can make that happen. if you're up for watching it somewhere, even there, i'm down.

but what's so crazy about this table is the very infinitesimal possibility of newcastle being 12th in the table a win this weekend, and a loss or draw earned by everyone above them up to stoke. to be able to jump 5 spots with a win this late in the season seems ridiculous.

but if newcastle can't beat a relegated qpr, they don't deserve to stay in the prem.

Only once, for Arsenal v. Newcastle. You were in town, we called.

In other news, Arsenal signed a deal with Puma for kit provider. I like that, as I look good in Puma.

Not sure how I should feel about the Chelsea Tottenham result. I feel like a Chelsea win would have been best, but then, a tie still leaves Chelsea catchable at 2 points up with 2 games to go. I think Arsenal have the easiest schedule remaining with Wigan at home and Newcastle away (sorry, Magpie fans). This has been a sick race for the past month or two. The relegation battle has been pretty epic, too. But in the end, it doesn't matter how I feel, the result is what it is.

Nice finish by Lampard for the equalizer. Both teams have players sent off for multiple yellow cards (Ramires for Chelsea, Benteke for Aston Villa).

Wondering if any team has ever played in (or won?) an FA Cup Final only to be relegated a few days later. Wigan is in position to do this now. Manchester City has won all seven of the most recent meetings between the two. That's *won*, no draws. Number of goals scored by Wigan in those seven matches: 0.

They've had (Wigan) the easiest road to the FA Cup Final I can recall seeing: Bournemouth (in a replay!), Macclesfield, Huddersfield, Everton, Millwall.

they're holding their own for the first third of the game.

for the magpies, i'm hoping that citeh wins this match like they won on the final day of the season last year. just rip out wigan's heart in the dying minute and leave them for dead for tuesday's match.

Wigan has survived the first half hour. City not playing inspired footy. And as the cliché goes . . . the longer this stays level, the better go Wigan's chances.

Birmingham City did it in 2011.

Correct you are. 2010 they lost 1-0 to Chelsea and were relegated.

qpr 1-2 newcastle at the half. never mind it should be 0-3 with a bullshit pen given to qpr (not only was the foul a bit soft, it clearly didn't happen in the box), and a cisse goal waved off on a dubious offsides call.

if newcastle don't win, and the pen was the only big mistake, i would be pissed, but would realize that newcastle should overcome that. but when the officials are responsible for a two-goal swing, that's difficult to stomach.

Newcastle are staying up! DEEEEEPPP sigh of relief.

Wigan would have to win out to move above us, and if they do that, then Villa would lose and be below us.

Now I'm going to sit back and root for Sunderland relegation next Sunday.

I believe it's the other way around. Sunderland are on 39 and can go down if they lose next week and Wigan win remaining two. Only Sunderland, Aston Villa, and Wigan can be relegated as of now.

Unfortunately, that video link is now dead.

But it sounds looks like it's time for that guy who did the "Yann Kermogant" song to put another one together. And just for kicks, here is the link. Three years later, it still makes me LOL every time.
