I can't remember the last time PC won a Big East Tourney game. I think God Shamgod was running the point.

Yet another anemic performance by the Friars in MSG.

Villanova might be the most unwatchable team in the country. Can't shoot, lots of turnovers, 1st in the country in getting to the free throw line, also fouls a ton.

If it's any indication, Providence beat the twice.

No one will EVER surpass Wisconsin in un-watch-ability.
This is the most nervous I've been for a game in a really long time, but its not the fun kind of nerves. Unlike baseball and hockey, I don't get any actual enjoyment out of these games until the result is decided.

Strictly due to the nerves? Or because the basketball is so shitty?

I find that very true about basketball and about college ball specifically. I don't know what it is, maybe that the range of performances is so big. You can be pretty sure Verlander isn't giving up 8 runs.
I'm not sure its that so much as this being a true relationship versus a team I like. And, aside from the early tourney, I don't really enjoy basketball just for the sake of enjoying it like I do the other two.

Sucks for the 2nd seed Colorado State Rams to have to play their semi-final game against UNLV, in Vegas. Not quite a neutral site, but that's the way it goes.

UNLV has sucked at home in the conference tournament lately, so I don't think it's much of a home-court advantage. Add in that the MWC is actually good about selling tickets across all schools, so it won't be packed with Las Vegans.
There is nothing in the world more predictable than NC State sleepwalking through the season, coasting on talent and frustrating their fans, and then turning it on during the ACC Tournament. Happens every single year.
I KNEW it would happen again today and UVA wouldn't be able to withstand it. When State plays hard, they are a top-ten team. Don't be surprised if they thump Miami tomorrow to get the ACC finals.
Syracuse's backup center, Baye Moussa Keita, who shot under 49% from the line on the season, went 7-of-7 from the line tonight in their win over Georgetown. He and reserve guard Trevor Cooney, who combined for 7 points a game before tonight, scored 23 in the OT win.
Snell had a nice little game against the Aztecs. Back to back to back 3s as part of a 24 - 4 run over the end of the 1st start of the second to put the game basically out of reach and then a sweet block on Franklin that in the aftermath Franklin pulled Snell down with him and into the basket support. Thank goodness Snell wasn't seriously hurt. The pulling could have been accidental, but the refs not noticing that the game was 4-4 for two possessions doesn't bode well for their observation skills in calling the game
I'm also fully expecting (no not really, but I'm bracing for it) to be the 8/9/10 on Kansas' 1/2 line in Kansas City just as a fuck you message from the NCAA.
The possibility of that would mindfuck me. And then Missouri would likely lose in the first round, making it irrelevant.
The frickin' geniuses at University of California, Berkeley, really need to do a study about why the University of California, Berkeley, men's basketball team gets blown out of any tournament, conference or national, in their first game seemingly every single bloody time.
