Head-2-Head Daily Fantasy--Anyone want a challenge

Post by wlu_lax6 »

A friend of mine is married to a VC. They just put money into a company called "Draft". Sort of curious to give it a try. It is mobile first. Anyone want to go head-2-head? They currently have NFL, MLB, CFB.

He married a Viet Cong?

I'm not mobile, otherwise, I'd be interested in throwing my cash away on a daily basis.

I am playing "Free" first. Just did a draft against a random opponent. Drafts are quick as you pick, they pick 2, you pick 2, etc. The one I did was a QB, 2RBs, 2WR/TE. Then you can decide if you want a "round 2" or add money after the fact. Interesting. Seems like the app takes 20% ($1 wins you $1.80)

Looks like you can play $1 to win $1.80

Maybe this should be a poll, but I have no desire in daily fantasy. I'm trying to figure out how much of an outlier I am.

I feel like I'd like it if it was a weekend where the wife/kids were out of town or something and I knew I could watch it all unfold.

At first I thought the VC invested in trying to beat the daily games. Definitely wondered whether some of the less sophisticated businesses in the gambling loophole business are susceptible to well organized players. House probably takes too much to make it worthwhile but there have to be many folks trying to game this.

"Hang Up and Listen" this week cited a stat that, if I am remembering correctly, 1.4 percent of all daily fantasy players win over 91 percent of all prizes and that many professional gamblers are getting away from traditional wagering and focusing their efforts on daily fantasy sports.

Heard that also. That is why I like the idea of knowing who you are playing (or at least they are 19 internet friends you have never met). I don't need to play fantasy sports against a bunch of computers.

Right. I'm guessing that the 1.4 percent is playing the larger pools, not the $5 tickets to win $4.50 (or whatever low-stakes game), which is what I imagine you would end up playing.

Yup....Wiz, Caps, and Mystics now have an official daily fantasy partner...Draft Ops.
Thats right...good job picking partnering with neither of the name brands. When I think winning franchises I think lets go with the Yugo of fantasy sports.
