defensive holding, right?

(I'm sure that's what you mean, but just asking for clarity's sake)

Yes, but hell, call it offsides or whatever. Any defensive penalty on the PAT. It just sounded like to me that if they took that penalty on the...is it the 15 they kick from?...that they can choose to enforce it like they lined up at the 2.

This article doesn't address specifics, but it seems that way: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... 015-season" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The defensive thing makes more sense than the above from the article. If you are called for an offensive penalty on a failed 2 point, why would the defense not just decline? (I suppose with the exception of a false start/deadball?)

Team A kicks PAT, PAT is good, Holding on the play.

Team A could elect to:
-Decline, PAT is good
-Accept, rekick PAT from 5 yards closer
-Accept, choose to go for 2 and enforce the penalty from that spot, giving them the ball on the 1 yard line for 2pt conversion?

That last one seems wacky but I swear I heard Al Michaels say it.
Rekicking the PAT makes no sense, but I could see going for 2 with half the distance to cover. I guess.

Technically you probably could have done the same thing in the past and the PAT would be moved from the 2 to the 1, but of course that's stupid. Just as you noted above, it would be stupid to accept the penalty and re-kick regardless of where the PAT line is.

I think that goes without saying. The issue I have is that you can apparently change midsteam and the field position is changed. In the old days the ball was spotted at the 2 so I have no issue with changing it up if you end up on the one. But now you're changing a 1 yard penalty into a 14 yard penalty. Since the spots have changed, I think they ought to have to pick one and stick with it.

They should use the Brady ruling to appeal his surely upcoming suspension on the grounds that the league's player policies don't specifically say that you can get suspended for making terroristic threats in an airport or destroying your teammate's car.

The amount of hubris on my Facebook page is off the charts, today. I'd be fucking embarrassed if my team ever won on opening night like that. You won because of two missed field goals, a bonehead play by DHB in the end zone, an absolute bullshit PI call right out of the Ravens playbook, a lucky bounce off of a fumble, and Tomlin having to listen to Scott Zolak screaming in his ear half the night. That's what the fucking Super Bowl champs need on opening night. You're shit organization with shit players, shit coaches, shit owners, and most of all, shit fans. I hope you all get AIDS and fucking die.

For fucks sake could you guys keep the assgrabbing contained to 2 or 3 threads?

Fucking A it's tiresome at this point. You guys are making this place hard to be around. Start yourselves an official Pats bitching/homerism thread and fuck off out of the rest of it.

Not gonna lie, my increasing NFL ambivalence feels freeing. I'll have the games on all day but I don't feel I have to be glued to them. I can do stuff around the house, yard, etc.

I like this (and think CFB is fueling it after my 15-hour days).
