Your wife calling in threats?

We got the same. I guess it’s good for people to be alert, but my daughter said a lot of kids freaking out. What kind of asshole starts this shit and terrorizes millions of kids and parents?
The call is coming from inside the house!

A few schools around here closed for the day. One a town over just evacuated. A military helicopter just flew over my wife's school. Other than that, things are going great for the virus.

Armed Americans Stand Ready to Seize Power If Trump Loses in 2024
America's massive and mostly Republican gun-rights movement dovetails with a growing belief among many Republicans that the federal government is an illegitimate tyranny that must be overthrown by any means necessary.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!

We are so doomed.

And just wait about a year when that kid is out of money, and his fame has subsided. Remember that the right went all in with George Zimmerman as well.

How long until Rittenhouse is having an auction of his AR-15?

He doesn't appear to have the emotional or mental capacity to handle the adulation. Hell, if he did, he wouldn't be on that stage, or drinking in a bar with people worshipping him a few days after killing 2 people. I don't see his story ending well.

Didn't Zimmerman get into a shit ton more trouble after the fact too? And I think I read somewhere he was trying to give out autographs to make ends meet. Dude was a pathetic scumbag.

Shouldn’t we consider the source first? Turning Point is a collection of some of the dumbest motherfuckers around. One if their two founders flunked out of community college; the other died of Covid because he thought masks didn’t work. Their top speaker thinks Hitler only became bad when he went outside Germany, and their communications director got fired from BuzzFeed for plagiarism. Their truly a bunch of morons, and anyone who cites them needs to be reminded of this. Fuck those dumb fucks.

Sure, but O'Keefe still gets treated like a legit journalist on Fox and other more mainstream Conservative outlets. They have the advantage of ignoring facts and knowing the majority of their audience will continue to eat the shit they spoon feed them. Continue to treat a fraud as legit, no amount of proof will knock the fraud out of relevancy. I need to up the Soma in my diet so I stop caring and just give up. Or weed.

A Bill Proposed a New Way to Teach History. It Got the History Wrong.
A Republican legislator in Virginia who campaigned against critical race theory introduced a bill that incorrectly said the Lincoln-Douglas debates were between Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass.

The GF asked this morning if I was worried about her going to Israel, with everything going on. I said that I was nervous BEFORE the latest developments.

I have a feeling things will quiet down somewhat in a couple of weeks. That article - and especially the right-wing columnist's disgust with the number of rights-suppressing bills the coalition is trying to ram through makes me think that the protests will succeed.

Either them or Chinua Achebe.
To be pedantic - credit goes to Yeats' "The Second Coming"
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
....
The last two lines there are so spot on.
