This is fucking bonkers behavior. You'd be puzzled if a party couldn't capitalize on that level of disarray.
It’s about fucking time the GOP gets punished for hitching their wagon to Trump. If he shut his fucking hole after the election, I think the GOP easily retain both seats. Why did they keep bringing him back to “campaign?” Every time he made it about him, barely mentioned either candidate, and trashed the GOP run election process as rigged and called for imprisoning the Republican Gov and SoS, while vowing to campaign against the Gov. I’d say it’s nuts, but why would Trump care if the GOP maintain the Senate if he’s gone? Unless Mitch could protect him from investigations. I also learned you can impeach people after they are out of office to ensure they can’t serve again.

and I just found out that Abrams has written 8 books (romance it looks like) under the pen name Selena Montgomery so she'd probably do a good job on GoT.

I tried. But I just can’t stay up any longer. I hope ossoff wins by the exact margin Biden did.

Trump’s legacy is that Georgia elected Joe Biden, a black man and a Jew in the space of 2 months.

I thought one of the most interesting things last night was that Warnock gave his victory speech from a livestream. Not a victory party. I'm sure he wasn't literally alone, not even close, but that was a striking visual.

I guess now that Biden knows he'll be able to get a replacement through the Senate, this was a safer choice.

Garland has a background with DOJ ... he even left a high-paying private firm job to join. I'm a little nervous about having someone head DOJ who hasn't been there in 25 years, but then again he'll have deputies to oversee every department.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

The DC Circuit is arguably the second most important court in the land. This allows Biden to name a younger successor to that bench that can hold it longer. Win-Win.

My buddy is a USADA in the SW of VA. Not political at all but he is the region chief and really just does criminal work. Wonder what his take will be. He has worked under both parties (and some solid pictures with a variety of Presidents).

But I did see the Eastern district guy just stepped down. G. Zachary Terwilliger....unclear if any relation to Bob and Cecil Terwilliger

I just turned on C-SPAN to watch the joint session - a whole squadron of young blonde women just marched into the chamber. I guess they would be pages and interns and staffers for those "family values" Republicans?

They got as far as Arizona, and the seditionists objected to the counting of Arizona's votes - to a standing ovation - and now the Senate and House have to retire to their respective separate chambers to debate the objection.

I'm curious - do you think they are going to spend two hours debating each of the six states the Rs want to complain about? If so, this will take all day.

(I had to turn it off when Scalise started talking. I just can't with these people.)

Yeah. Maybe if he had done that on November 8, or November 30, or December 14, we wouldn't be here.

Yeah. I can't believe that this quote is from Mitch McConnell: “We cannot simply declare ourselves a national board of elections on steroids. The voters, the courts and the states have all spoken. If we overrule them, it would damage our Republic forever.”

I don't for a second believe any of that McConnell shit unless you add the caveat "at this time" or "for Trump".
